The Food Bank is run by 30-35 volunteers, plus 11 active board members. In 2011, about $15 $20K was spent on food; mostly expensive items such as peanut butter, cereal, canned fruit, soup and crackers. The Food Bank is suggesting an item of the month (all donations obviously welcome).

PILGRIMAGE TO MONTREAL: The 3rd annual pilgrimage to St. Joseph Oratory, stopping first at the Shrine of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, will take place on Sunday, November 4th. For more information please call 613-732-2235.
THE BISHOP SMITH / ST. JOSEPH HIGH SCHOOL DOMINICAN REPUBLIC TEAM: is hosting a fundraising dance at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 170 Ellis Ave., Pembroke on Saturday, November 10th. Tickets may be purchased at Moncions east and west Pembroke locations, or contact Mark Conrad at Bishop Smith CHS at 613-735-5496. This is an adult only licensed event. Please help support our mission in the DR. LIMA-PEMBROKE PARTNERSHIP: Please support our annual fundraising campaign to help our Peruvian friends in the poorest communities of Lima by making a donation to the Diocese of Pembroke Peru Projects (tax receipt will be issued). Donations go a long way: feeding malnourished children, building houses and day care centres for infants, seniors, providing medical and health services and much, much, more. CONFIRMATION: Next Sunday, November 4 th, Bishop Mulhall will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation for 16 of your young people at the 10:30 a.m. Mass. The candidates will gather on Saturday, November 3rd for a retreat. Please keep these young people in your prayers.
