the assignment that you will be doing for the Man & Environment class, on THE WALLED CITY

OF LAHORE, is probably going to be one of the most fascinating peice of work you have ever done. It will also give you a life long store house of knowledge and information of ,not only one of the oldest cities in the world, but also of the rich hertiage that we have inhertited.

The assignment has been divided into 9 aspects of the Walled City. You are to divide yourselves into 9 almost equal groups ( 7 groups of 4 students, 2 groups of 5 students ) =38 students. Each group is to take up one aspect given in the List of Aspects/ Categories to researched.

Please be very clear, that this should not be a superficial assignment, merely listing the obvious. There should be research into aspects of your category that are perhaps not so widely known..In order to do justice to this topic, and to derive the maximum benefit from this assignment, we will be spreading the assignment presentations over 2 weeks,i.e 2 lectures. This will allow each group ample time to give a through presentation,as well as give us time to discuss and assimilate the information presented in the class. This means that ,please do not do your assignment as rush job. Divide your presentations time into equal time periods, spread over 3 hours, so that you know how much time you will be presenting for.

A picture is worth a thousand words, therefore add as many visuals as you possibly can lay your hands on, to further illustrate your catergory. Presenting visuals does not however mean that there should be 90% visuals and very little else. Visuals are to act as a supporting documentaion only.
