LOVE IN A BOTTLE Some people find love in all the wrong places... In books, in magazines, in computer interfaces...

They dream of the love they probably could find... If they just reached out and gave it some time. On wedding days there are always smiles and cheers, But no one knows what might happen in years Will they still love each other even more? Or will they pack their bags and walk out the door? Love can be magic and brings out the best, But time and circumstance are its true test... That habit he had that you thought might change... Now it's not so fun or cute to rearrange... Some people find love in a bottle of sorts... Whatever their vice: alcohol, drugs, food, sports... But the time spent drinking or in front of the tv Means less face time with the person you promised to be... We all make mistakes, and love does forgive But how many times before we really can live? If you want to find love, then you do your part, Your love in a bottle is breaking her heart... BY Lisa Major Elders, 5/27/11 MAKE TIME Time heals all wounds, or so they say, But some wounds refuse to go away... But we take our chances to love and live, To fight, to dance, to seek , to give... Sometimes, it feels our hearts are breaking, And each hurt is another crack in the making Of the people that God intends us to be As He opens our hearts and helps us believe... So we pray that God will give us the hope That we need to heal, to love, to cope... And those for whom we pray the most Will make their way from being lost... Grief has no timetable nor linear path And anger from pain multiplies its wrath... So hold fast to the Light and bask in Love's Grace See God in the eyes of every Human face...

Even when the pain seems too much to bear... Open your heart so others can care... From our wounds comes courage to help us heal And in that moment we know that Jesus is real. _ By Lisa Major Elders, 4/30/11 HEART AND HEAD There is a place I like to go If only in my head... To find a place of peace and love And rid my world of dread. I go there when the day is hard And fill my heart with Joy I say a prayer for you and then I ask God for even more... I ask God to watch over all I love And give them Perfect Peace... I ask God to help me forgive... These burdens to release... I give my heart back to God For it was never mine to give... This life can be too short I know, And so I choose to live! By Lisa Major Elders, 2/6/11

MEDITATION Mind, do not speak So that my heart may hear The answers that I seek Are there if mind is clear... Just breathe and close your eyes And feel the Spirit here. Within the Heart, Light realized When the Divine is near... Prayer is offering up to God Our concerns, our hopes, our fears; Meditation is hearing only God What only an open heart hears... Peace, be still and know true Grace And feel Love in that Voice It is the heart that knows God's face,

Not the mind that makes the Choice... - By Lisa Major Elders, 7/26/11 NO MORE WORDS When I started this poem, With nothing to say, I hoped for inspiration To get me through today. I looked up to the sky For answers to the Deep... I felt the gentle breezes, I prayed my Soul to keep... I cried out for understanding, For wise compassion too, For Love beyond all reason, For Strength in what to do. I sat in total silence, My Heart was moved to tears; God gave me gentle nudges To help allay my fears... And, so, in quiet resignation, In the pain my own words bore, My tongue fell into silence, And words... they were no more... - By Lisa Major Elders ( 09/07/2011)

FIRST LOVE Do you think of me When I think of you? With memories of innocence And love pure and true? With a heart now weary From time and circumstance... With a soul tried and broken Still trying to dance... Do you ever wonder If I ceased to be? Do you remember writing In my hand "Marry Me" ? I had a dream last night And wondered why... When you think of me, Does it make you cry? Faced with life's challenges As I've grown older... I remember the times When you longed to hold her... That free spirit of yesterday That refused to conform Letters saved in a shoebox That was tattered and worn That girl that you knew That knew no limits Was better all her life Because you were in it.
