PHILOSOPHY ESSAY Aristotle was a Greek philosopher and polymath, a student of Plato and teacher of Alexander the Great.

His writings cover many subjects, including physics, metaphysics, poetry, theatre, music, logic, rhetoric, linguistics, politics, government, ethics, biology, and zoology. Tragedy in the literature or poem or in any novel is an important aspect of the theme that is being presented there. Aristotle mentioned that the tragedy is made of the number of aspects such as from plot, character, thought, diction, song to spectacle. Shakespeare also used these aspects in his writing to express the tragedy. Shakespeare with the character and through of the character aspects tried to elaborate about the tragedy in this writing named as King Lear. Character In King Lear, Shakespeare tries to create a tragedy with characters as expresses in these lines in King Lear story, as the King Lear is have a problem of understanding to know that who loves him more in his own family. Shakespeare find that the tragedy in the voice of the King Lear too. King Lear as a character of the story is presenting the theme of the tragedy. In the next liens of the story the tragedy of the King is obvious Lear. Let it be so! Thy truth then is thy dower! For, by the sacred radiance of the sun, the mysteries of Hecate and the night; by all the operation of the orbs from whom we do exist and cease to be; here I disclaim all my paternal care, Propinquity and property of blood, And as a stranger to my heart and me Hold thee from this forever. [Shakespeare, The King Lear, p.9] Thought More than this, as described in Poetics of Aristotle about the tragedy characters and the thought of the characters in the story or poem is a kind of a function of the writer or poet that relates to the different incidents and themes. What has been happened and what is going to be happen that might be worse than earlier or what is possible that may affect the thinking and the characters in his life. As Shakespeare also mentions a form of philosophical tragedy based on the character of the story and the thinking of the character as depicts in the lines such as Thou whoreson zed! Thou unnecessary letter! My lord, if you'll give me leave, I will tread this unbolted villain into mortar and daub the walls of a jakes with him. 'Spare my grey beard,' you wagtail? Corn. Peace, sirrah! You beastly knave, know you no reverence? Kent. Yes, sir, but anger hath a privilege. [Shakespeare, The King Lear, p.29] In these lines the poet describes the

philosophical approach of tragedy that the character and the thinking of the character lay. The tragedy is not only because of the character but also because of the philosophical thinking of the character that has been introduced in this story written by Shakespeare.
