Election of the Chair 

There shall be one (1) positioned filled and one (1) winner of this election 
 
 
 
      Nomination of Candidate 
1  State Committee Members are called on by the convention chair to nominate a suitable 
candidate for the office of the Chair.   All nominations must be made from the floor of the State 
Committee. 
      Nominating Speech:  2 minutes (maximum) 

 
 

Candidate Speeches

Nomination will close.  All candidates are entitled to speak on behalf of their candidacy.  
Speaking is limited to one round of speeches for all candidates.  Allowance for subsequent 
rounds of speeches shall be at the discretion of the Convention Chair.

      Vote 
‐Voting will be conducted by separate ballot for each position. 

3  ‐An initial round of voting will be conducted to determine a winner 
‐A winner is defined as a candidate who receives more than 50% of the vote 
‐Subsequent rounds of voting will be conducted until a winner is determined. 
‐State Committee Persons will receive a number of ballots equal to the number of 
proxies carried (if any) plus their own.  (ex. 2 proxies plus OWN = 3 Ballots)

Sample Rounds 
 
Step One:  Designated proctors will release seated State Committee Members to their corresponding voting station (one row at a 
time. 
 
Step Two:  Station Attendant 1 will (counting aloud) determine the appropriate number of ballots for the State Committee Member 
and hand the ballots to Station Attendant 2. 
 
Step Thee:  Station Attendant 2 will color code the ballot to indicate the round of voting, and then hand the ballots to the State 
Committee Member 
 
Step Four:  State Committee Member will cast their vote and hand it to the appropriate Credentials Committee Person monitoring 
each station for proper handling.   All State Committee Members must print their name on each ballot in order for it to be 
considered valid.  Ballots without names will be considered invalid.
