The Benifits of Regular and Systemetic Training in The work Force By Muhammad Zaheer Sultan Shah_663@yahoo.

Training is organized approach to influence employees knowledge, skill and behaviour either in team or individually to enhance organizational performance collectively (Arguinis,Kraiger, 2009)1. Training is always treated as investment instead of expense because it returns in the form of productivity and organizational effectiveness. When we talk about regular and systematic training it means we are considering the training as primary tool before implementing every new process either in services or production industry. In the mid 1990s a team of researchers from sydney conducted a survey to judge the determinent of entriprise training for australian national training authority (Smith and hayton, 1999)2.This study presented following model that how enterprizes feel the need of training. The model is shown below

While looking for benifits of training we find that training provides planned learning experience and job related experience. Training helps to motivate employees and it increases efficiency of the employees. This motivation and efficiency helps to improve the way in which they make decisions on the job.Marks and spencer (Australia) is a good example of how a business can have competetive advantage by the help of training.(The Times,12th edition). There is written prove that training has benifits for organization and employees as well. The first and foremost benifit of training is related to performance that is training always focuses on improved performance (Hill and Lent, 2006)3.Training not only increase declerative and procedural knowledge but it also increases knowledge about what to implement at what time (Kozlowski et al. 2001)4. There are also other benifts alongwith job performance which impact the employee after training. But the thing which is more important here is that each and every benifit we discuss here ultimately relates to job performance of employees.

Many researches to study the relationship between training and its impact on society have been made and most of the time conclusion was that training increases quality of work force which in turn increases the national economic growth (Becker, 1962)5. Effective training can improve personal charecteristics of the employees which will enhance thier productivity which ultimately leads to organizational effectiveness. The way in which job satisfation increases is that when employee understands that how his job is benifiting organization he becomes motivatede and feels satisfaction over his tasks. With systemized training employee will be more confident after knowing how important his tasks and responsibilities are to organization.Employee training not only provides sufficient information about thier job but it also helps to know future targets which are potential in thier career. Alongwith employees training provide a lot of benefit to employer as well like it will make evaluators easy to understand about performance of employee. Training also helps management to better implement SoPs in the organization because they will easily be taught to employees during training.Training also leads to the improved profitability for organization as a whole. Another benifit of training is that it can help in organizational development (Sommerville,2007)6. No one will start a job unless untill he seems some career growth in his job (Dobbs, 2000)7. In recent years when employees are switching thier jobs rapidly due to technical advancements employers need to consider seriously about the career development of employees within thier organizations. And provision of systematic and organized training to employees may retain them for longer time in one organization(Wilson, 2000)8. Not only companies need to

develop thier employees but companies also need to develop a sense of ownership of organization within employees (Gerbman, 2000)9. Further talking about benifits of training we can find an important benifit that is competetive advantage of the firm over competitors. When an organization is providing sufficient career growth to its employees then definately potential employees will be attracted toward the firm and ultimately thier competency will lead to high productivity and high value of the firm in the market, leading to competetive advantage. An intresting relationship between advantages of employee and employer for training is that the profit sharing. Employer after getting well trained staff may have increased profits of employer and employer will share this profit with employees and hence a well being of employee is reslut hence employer-employer benifits are inter-related. Further training of employees may increase the team work ability of the employees which is positively reinforcing the synergy concept of japan. A better team can lead to better organization. Significance of training can be analyzed from the old pro-verb Give a person a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a person to fish and feed him for life time. Although this pro-verb is more related to vocational training but in case of corporations this fish is shared by employers for life time with employee in the form of profit. This profit is constant if employer succeeds to retain an employee and retention is only possible if you provide training in systematic and organized manner periodically (Mccleland, 2002)10. Another important type of training is apprenticeship training which is beneficial for both the employer and the employee as well. While discussing at the end of employer it enables him

to choose the best fresh talent from the market with competitative abilities. Another advantage is the retention of these employees because according to apprenticeship regulations one must serve employer for a particular time period already defined in the apprenticeship contract.Further employer may provide the training according to his primary requirements which will definately increase productivity of his apprenticeship scheme employees. While talking about the apprenticeship training for employees we find a lot of them for employees like a job security just after getting out of educational institution, a long term psychological contract with the employer and increased motivation level after signing the apprenticeship conntract with the employer. Another benifit of trainng which apprenticeship trainee enjoys is the increasing worth in his particular job with the passage of time. Going deeper inside the classifications of training each and every class has its own benifits and advantages for both employee and employer. Fewer classifications and thier advantages are as follows. One the job taining is the training which is provided to employees while they are performing thier day to day tasks in the office. This type of training provide broader scope for the trainees to learn as the real time happenings can be seen daily. Another type is opposite to on the job training that is off the job training. In this sort of training employees are sent to some training institution for training while they are not present on thier job. Simulation plays an important role in such type of off the job training, in simulation trainers try to create a reall time environment for learning of employees. For example pilots can be traied in a glinding. (Molnar and Watts, 2000)11.

Some times the term training is mixed with development but these are two little diffrent things training deals with present job skills while development is about the prepration of employee for his future job which may contain more responsibilities. But when we talk about the benifits of training these are almost similar with that of development both in terms of employee and employer as well. Concluding all the discussion above and refrencing to all the previous researches one can easily conclude that provision of training to employees in recent erra of competetion is too much necessary both for employers and employee. Employer can never have better workforce and hence better organizational performance with out provision of proper training. While employee is also not able to grow his career at all with out having proper training in the job which he is performing. Thinking about the future horizon of training in the corporate world we can say that the best investment will be the investment on trainng. This investment can be by the employer to make his employees satisfied and motivated. And it can be from the employee to attian better future in the market.
