1. Daoism currently has two main organizations that keep the religion alive and moving forward.

The first is the Way of the Heavenly Master or Tianshi. This organization is based on the religion being passed down through generations from Grandfather, to Son, to Grandson. Tianshi beliefs are based on the teachings of Zhang Daoling and are primarily in Taiwan. The Way of complete Perfection or Quanshen is the other main organization that keeps Daoism alive today in China. Quanshen has combined the belief systems of Daoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. Their version of Daoism is continually evolving and incorporating new literature and ideas. Quanshen has many devoted monks and monasteries to attract their followers.

2. The Dao is supposed to be indescribable, being in everything in nature and keeping harmony. Dao is the natural order of the universe that those of Daoism hope to achieve through balance and harmony. The Dao to a true follower of Daoism is achieved through perfect balance and meditation. It is something achieved buy following nature and keeping balance with in ones self. Inner balance or balanced yin and yang is the key to perfection. The Dao to a follower of Confucianism thinks the Dao can be learned and achieved through perfect manners and having the appropriate relationships with fellow humans. The Dao is achieved through a harmonious society following proper manners and keeping your relationships up to par. You have to keep up with your moral and ethical values as well. It takes great effort for a Confucianism believer to achieve where the follower of Daoism it takes just enough effort no more and no less and a belief in ones self to be saved by the great mother and to let nature run its course. 3. Father Son or parent /child relationship is one of the most important to society. A parent must care for and look after a child in youth as that same child must take care of the parents when elderly. This must lead to the extended family living in the same house hold for most of ones life. Your family is a regular fixture in your life helping you find your job and mate for life. Elder brother- Younger brother is the next relationship that also keeps the family close nit and together. The older sibling assumes responsibility if a parent passes away early on in their childrens life. This keeps an authority figure in place to help raise the kids and keeps a relationship working that commands some respect for an older person.

Husband Wife takes on a more motherly son type of vibe later on in life. The Husband is the protector and the head of the family while the wife is the care taker and raises the children. It seems that Confucianism is another religion that puts womens rights second.

Elder younger is needed as it takes more than just parents to set the child up for greatness. Elders are to be respected and listen to. Elders position is to teach the youth their knowledge from their years of experience. This relationship is used a lot in business as well. There is a mutual level of obligation involved that insures that elders get attention and the young get knowledge. The last relationship is ruler -subject. This one is important yet usually ends up as a father child relationship as the ruler needs to take a fathering type of care for his subjects. And the subjects need to respect their ruler. Each person is responsible for carrying out the needed tasks and roles in order to maintain the society. This is the rectification of names. A person just needs to take a look at who they are to learn what they should be doing in society.

4. Ren means to think of others and being polite. Wen means culture and the arts Shu means to reciprocate or to take into account how actions will affect other people. Chun Tzu means the better ideal person or civilization at an ideal point or best point. Kong Fuzi was the proper name for Confucius. Kong Fuzi used Ren, Wen, Shu as the ideals to create his perfect harmonized civilization. Ren was used to keep society proper and everyone polite with each other. If you were polite you wouldnt complain or make negative comments toward anyone. Wen was an outlet to create objects of beauty and show what a harmonized society was able to create. Shu was another way to keep people in line and to make sure no ill will was projected at others. Kong Fuzi used Chun tzu as an example of what the ideal subject should be. He wanted an educated society where no one was in need and everyone was looked after and cared for. 5. There are many examples of Yin and Yang in the world today. The following are some examples: light and dark, valley and mountains, sky and earth, life and death, male and female. Yin and Yang are the perfect opposites of one another yet dont cancel each other out. To be Yin and Yang, the subjects need be opposite yet complimentary.
