Dhikr For Allah and Muraaqabah

There are various ways one can adopt for remembering Allah. However, when it comes to Dhikr in its spiritual sense, it refers to the ordinances one must observe in reciting the Tawheed, the beautiful and powerful attributes of Allah and His secret proper name Allah. The steps are as follows: a. Perform ablution (Wudhu). b. Choose a clean place in a remote corner of your house. Keep it specifically for Swalaat and Dhikr. c. Use dim light or total darkness which is preferable. d. Use itr (Islamic perfume without alcohol) or scent. e. Sit in Qadah position or with the legs crossed facing the Qiblah Kabah Shareef with head down in humility. Every step is based on the level of humility and concentration the Dhakir (the one performing the Dhikr) will observe and maintain. f. Breathe in and out to calm down and to take a relax attitude as you are in front of your Lord. Your breathing must be silent in respect of your Lord. As when you will start from step 1 below, your eyes must be closed.
