The EMST150 is the First Respiratory Training Tool Effective in Increasing Exhal ation Strength in High School Musicians

Aspire Products, is proud to introduce to music programs around the country thei r EMST150 expiratory muscle strength trainer. The EMST150 trainer is the first c alibrated EXPIRATORY muscle strength trainer to have been tested with high schoo ls students and proven to increase expiratory muscle strength (the muscles that control exhalation). Boca Raton, FL, US, October 30, 2012 -- For wind instruments, one of the most im portant factors in tone production is the use of air. Medical research has alrea dy shown that lung function and lung capacity are not entirely fixed and can be affected significantly through respiratory training. But the tests that have bee n done were concentrated mainly on inspiration improvement (synonymous with inha lation) UNTIL NOW. Aspire Products, is proud to introduce to music programs around the country the EMST150 expiratory muscle strength trainer. The EMST150 trainer is the first calibrated EXPIRATORY muscle strength trainer t o have been tested with high schools students and proven to increase expiratory muscle strength (the muscles that control exhalation). Why is this important and what does it mean to high school bands around the world? The first major figure in the music field to take advantage or respiratory train ing tool was Arnold Jacobs, former tubist with the Chicago Symphony and world-re nowned breathing specialist. He was the first to introduce exercises designed to help wind instrumentalists improve their use of air or flow. Since Arnold Jacob s made his discovery, there have been a number of tools offered that concentrate only on building the muscles associated with inhalation. The EMST150 is the fir st tool available that is proven to build the expiratory muscles and can be used alone to improve both airflow and pressure. Exhaling stronger aides in reducing CO2 in the lungs, giving them more strength. In one of the few studies to target musicians, and the first study to measure th e effects of expiratory strength on musicians, a group of University of Florida researchers, led by Dr. Christine Sapienza, divided 40 high school band students into either an experimental group or a control group. The experimental group pa rticipated in a respiratory training program that consisted of 24 breaths per da y with the EMST150. After training five days a week for two weeks, the experimen tal group saw an average improvement in maximal expiratory pressure of 47.5 perc ent. The control group saw no improvement. Students can use The EMST150 to improve both flow, by following the prescribed h igh flow, low resistance exercises, and the ability to increase pressure, by fol lowing the prescribed high resistance exercises. Training materials, an informat ional brochure and an Instructional Video are included with every EMST150 Traine r. To learn more about the EMST150 please visit www.emst150.com.
