Mr. Asif Rafiq, B.Sc, ICPA, Director Mr. Rafiq has had an extensive and experienced international career working in London, Dubai and Singapore. He has worked in various roles as an accountant, auditor, assistant finance controller, and as resident partner in an international firm of accountants. As director of the firm he now deals with all the clients accountancy a n d tax affairs. He has during this time, recently written various business booklets / guides for his clients such as How to increase profit and How to decrease tax. He is currently also writing on How to do business in the UK. To date, Mr. Rafiq has worked in small and medium sized concerns covering various aspects of accounting, auditing, VAT, PAYE, personal and corporate tax affairs. He has also worked in senior consultancy roles encompassing accountancy systems & software set-ups, company incorporations, business plans and feasibility reports, bank financing and ISO consultancy. His sphere of work in London covered s e l f - employed persons and businesses in the trading, retail and services industries. He then moved to Dubai where he worked with clients in other industries such as manufacturing, mining, m e d i a and technology. In Singapore h i s e x p e r i e n c e c o v e r e d shipping & freight, groups and subsidiaries accounting. In 1996, he was the Sharjah Resident Partner for a top ten international accountancy practice based in Dubai, U.A.E. There he initiated various value added services including inhouse newsletters and complementary annual management reports, which was replicated by the full branch network. His has written various finance articles in the newsletters and made presentations on financial topics to staff & clients. He also co-wrote "Going Offshore" and authored "Doing Business In The U.A.E" guides. To his credit Mr. Rafiq also acted as the official client consultant to the Sharjah Airport Free Zones exhibitions held in Delhi, Mumbai and Baku Azerbaijan. In Sharjah, Mr. Rafiq worked with various well- k n o w n clients such as a business owned by a member of the Qatari Royal family. Other important clients included Fujairah Chromite mines, Tajik Air, and Zee TV amongst others. Mr. Peter Petrou, B.Sc, ACA, Associate Tax Consultant Mr. Petrou has also had a varied and experienced career. He obtained an economics degree at University College London and qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Price Waterhouse Coopers, where he worked until 1995. He was then recruited by a retail bank to head their business development and set up their mortgage and gold card divisions. In 1998, Peter left to start his practice in Central London. As well as his accountancy & audit expertise, Peter provides clients with a diverse range of services covering tax planning; tax consultancy and investigation work in VAT, Income, Corporation tax.
