TRF - PHF
ANNUAL WINE AUCTION FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2012 6:00 PM HANFORD FRATERNAL HALL
WHAT IS THE RCH WINE AUCTION? This is an opportunity to have an enjoyable evening with our family of Rotary, support The Rotary Foundation and either complete your PAUL HARRIS FELLOW (PHF), add to or begin a sustaining member PHF. Wine, cheese and whatever the committee comes up with will be auctioned off by our own PP JOHN WEBSTER. A PHF is a recognition of a $1,000 donation to The Rotary Foundation. You can donate $1,000 in a lump sum or become a Sustaining Member for a minimum of $100 per year until you reach $1,000. That doesnt mean you have to limit your bid to $100 100% of your bid will be applied. Membership does not require that you become a PHF. Of course, guests are welcome. ROTARY AND SANDY A NOTE FROM GOV. SHIRLEY I asked Gov. Shirley if RI or TRF had set up a relief fund for victims of Sandy. I am expecting information back from an RI Representative and will keep you posted. We have a number of Rotarians asking and thus I have requested that Lt. Governor Dick Herrinton collect the information and review our options. This will allow us to act independently or collectively according to what best suits our Clubs and members. In light of this the Board of Directors will discuss this at Tues. meeting and give you any information we receive. We can collect donations at the meeting Friday.

NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN The nominating committee of the last 3 presidents, Mike Reinhart (Chair), Joe Casey & Chris Stevens will be meeting to make nominations for club officers and directors for the 2013 2014 Rotary Year. Let them know your suggestions.

HUMOR PAGE A Little After Halloween Humour
You know you are too old to Trick or Treat when: 10. You keep knocking on your own front door. 9. You remove your false teeth to change your appearance. 8. You ask for soft high fiber candy only. 7. When someone drops a candy bar in your bag, and you lose your balance and fall over. 6. People say: 'Great Boris Karloff Mask,' And you're not wearing a mask. 5. When the door opens you yell, 'Trick or...' And you can't remember the rest. 4. By the end of the night, you have a bag full of restraining orders. 3 You have to carefully choose a costume that doesn't dislodge your hairpiece. 2. You're the only Power Ranger in the neighborhood with a walker. And the number one reason Seniors should not go Trick Or Treating: 1. You keep having to go home to go to the bathroom! Two brooms in a witches flying broom closet after a while got to know each other so well, they decided to get married. One broom was, of course, the bride broom, the other the groom broom. The bride broom looked very beautiful in her white dress. The groom broom was handsome and suave in his tuxedo. The wedding was lovely. After the wedding, at the wedding dinner, the bride-broom leaned over and said to the groom-broom, 'I think I am going to have a little whisk broom!' 'IMPOSSIBLE !' said the groom broom. Are you ready for this? Brace yourself; this is going to hurt! !! 'WE HAVEN'T EVEN SWEPT TOGETHER!' OK! OK! That was really CORNY! Im Sorry! To make up for it, Ill leave you with this: Sounds to me like she's......been ....sweeping around!!! ZING! KaBoom! A few one-liners: How long a minute is depends on what side of the bathroom door youre on Birthdays are good for you; the more you have, the longer you live. Ever notice that the people who are late are often much jollier than the people who have to wait for them? If Wal-Mart is lowering prices every day, how come nothing is free yet? Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once. A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour. After a tiring day, a commuter settled down in her seat and closed her eyes. As the train rolled out of the station, the guy sitting next to her pulled out his cell phone and started talking in a loud voice: "Hi sweetheart. It's Eric. I'm on the train. Yes, I know it's the six thirty and not the four thirty, but I had a long meeting. No, honey, not with that blonde from the accounts office. With the boss. No sweetheart, you're the only one in my life. Yes, I'm sure, cross my heart" Fifteen minutes later, he was still talking loudly, when the young woman sitting next to him had had enough and leaned over and said into the phone, "Eric, turn that phone off and come back to bed." Eric doesn't use his cell phone in public any longer. Cell phone etiquette, ya think ?
