Dear students, It is expected that more than 800 students will be writing the qualifying test (QT). A number of students from Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Solapur, Ahmednagar, Sangali, Ichalkaranji, Thane, Mumbai, Nashik and many other cities are registering for QT. We ensure all of you that the selection will be done strictly on the merit basis. As we are going to select only 80 among these, the top 80 students in our merit list will be invited to choose the batch, strictly in the order of merit. Here are some of the common questions most of the students ask us. We have given reasonably complete answers to these questions. Carefully read each and every word of the information given below. This will help you to take a decision most suitable to you. What about Std XI and XII syllabus? IIT JEE syllabus covers much more than syllabus of HSC, ICSE and CBSE. So training for IIT automatically covers all these syllabuses. Our training program is designed keeping IIT JEE examination in mind, so the emphasis will be on complete understanding of the concepts and IIT level problem solving. Ours is actually IITJEE++ training program. We teach all the proofs of the results required for the examination. Our students not only do well at IIT-JEE but continue to do exceptionally well after joining IIT. What kind of reference material do you suggest? Should we go for correspondence courses like FIIT-JEE and BRILLIANTS etc? There is a large amount of reference material available in the market. Most of these sources cover up to 70% needs of the students. But none of these really completely cover all the needs of the students. Also these study materials does not address the specic weakness of a particular student. Also the prerequisites assumed in these study materials is not satised by most of the students and hence they get badly stuck in many places. Our strategy is to design assignments and exams, in which the problems are selected from various sources available. The emphasis will be on selecting a wide variety of problems so that the students are saved the trouble of nding out the quality problems. This will save great amount of time of our students. Hence there is no need to buy any of these study materials. You may join the practice tests these institutes conduct during std XII. However it is important that students purchase some standard time tested text books. The exact list of these books is as follows.

Each student must have the following books on 1st June 2010. Name of the book Mathematics for All Engineering Entrance Exams - an Objective Approach Co-ordinate Geometry Concepts of Physics I and II Problems in Physics Numerical Chemistry CBSE Chemistry Texts XI & XII Organic Chemistry Author Amit Agarwal Publisher Arihant

Loney H.C.Verma Erodov Dr P. Bahadur Dr. R.K.Gupta R.K.Amit

Macmillan Bharati Bhawan Mir Publishers Bathala & Sons NCERT Arihant

Reference books: To develop your personal library a student may buy books of his choice from the following list. (1) Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnik (2) Aptitude Test Problems in Physics by S.S. Krotov (3) 200 Puzzling Problems in Physics by Gnadig, Riley (4) Feynman Lectures in Physics, Vol. 1 and 2. (5) Concise Inorganic Chemistry by J.D. Lee (6) Organic Chemistry by Morrison and Boyd Help in purchasing books. In principle you are free to buy books from any source. However we suggest the name of Universal Book Stall. Their representative will be present in our academy on 11th April 2010 . After completing your admission you may place an order with them. They oer good discount and prompt service. What is schedule/time-table of this course? Our training program will start from 1st June 2010. Timing Days Maths Faculty Physics Faculty Chemistry Faculty Morning Batch Evening Batch 6.45 a.m. to 9.15 a.m. 6.45 p.m. to 9.15 p.m. All seven days All seven days Prof. Chinchanikar Prof. M. The entire syllabus of IIT will be covered by 30th September 2011. After that, a complete revision will be done. This will be followed by a number of practice tests. After the XII board examination is over, several mock tests for the IIT exam will be conducted. The only holidays will be at the time of Diwali for one week and for 10 days in the month of May 2011. The lectures will be conducted at the time of XI terminal and even annual examination. Suggest the name of the best possible college. For example, almost entire maths portion of standard XI will be completed by 30th of September 2011. You will be wasting your time in whichever college you join. The college that does not too much insist on attendance and is close to your house and has the smallest number of contact hours is the best choice for you. Take the advice of your seniors in this matter. They will conrm that no matter which college they had joined they hardly attended any lectures. There are number of colleges in Pune City and all you need to do is choose that college which will not clash with the batch timing you have selected. How much hard work is expected from me? We rst estimate the time required for non academic activities. Activity Sleeping Eating Commuting between home and college Commuting between home and MPA Physical Fitness Hobby Socialising Total Time Required 7 Hours 1 Hour 0.5 Hours 0.5 Hours 1 Hour 1 Hour 1 Hour 12 Hours

So note that having accounted for all the non academic activities you have every day 12 Hours at your disposal for academic activities. Now if you are really serious about joining IIT we expect that you actually use each minute of these twelve hours for the purpose of studying. This includes college hours as well as time spent at our institute. The more time you are able to study independently, better will be your chances. That is why choosing a college where you need to spend minimum amount of time is the best choice. Typically in the vacation period you should be studying for three hours for each subject at home, and attend the lectures at the academy for a period of three hours.

Respected Parents, we want you to make this requirement of putting in 12 Hours of Study Every day for next two years absolutely clear to your ward. If he does well in our entrance test we are sure of his intellectual ability to grasp what we will teach him. But you know better about his true ability to actually do a focused work for two years. We do not have any magic wands. At all India level there is erce competition for getting into IIT. 2.5 lakhs of student write the exam and only 5000 make it. That is only 2% of students actually make it. With our training we can improve his chances from 2% to 50%. The major reason we believe why remaining 50% students dont make it is they simply do not work hard enough. We request the parents not to enroll their ward in our academy if their son/daughter does not possess this hardworking ability. Instead of accepting lazy students, we do not mind a student of a lower rank in our merit list who is actually capable of putting all the hard work. Homework for the Selected Students It is an unfortunate fact that you will not be knowing the proofs of a number of formulae you have been using. Go through entire school mathematics. Make a complete list of all the formulae and theorems and constructions you have studied in your school days. For doing really well at IIT you need to be master of all that you have already learnt. Find out for yourself whether you have only remembered the proof or you have completely understood it. Prove once again all those formulae you have used. If you get the proof, congratulations. If not, ask it as a diculty when we meet for the rst maths lecture. Instructions for the students who have studied through a medium other than English. Buy the text books of english medium of Maths and Science std X. Read each and every word. Write down as many answers of as many important questions as possible. Start listening to the news, rst in your mother tongue and then in English. As you are listening, start taking notes. Get these corrected by someone good at English. Instructions for the outstation students. We do not provide any hostel facility. You will have to arrange for your lodging and boarding on your own. Number of students from last years batch have successfully done this. A list of all the outstation students will be given to you. You may form groups and stay together by renting a suitable place.
