WordPress uses XML-RPC, an open XML standard that allows di erent systems in di erent environments to talk to one another. XML-RPC is designed to be as simple as possible, while at the same time allowing for complex tasks to be performed.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
WORDPRESS 3.2 PHP version 5.2.4 or greater MySQL version 5.0 or greater WORDPRESS 3.1 PHP version 4.3 MySQL version 4.1.2. In addition, we suggest Apache or Nginx as the most robust and featureful server for running the installation, but any server that supports PHP and MySQL will do. Please check from your service provider of their support level.

NOT REQUIRED, BUT RECOMMENDED FOR BETTER SECURITY Hosting is more secure when PHP applications, like WordPress, are run using account username instead of the servers default shared username. The most common for hosting companies to do this is using suPHP. Just ask your potential host if they run suPHP or a similar solution.
