Listening to the Sound of a Singing Voice

What will I learn? At the end of lesson 2, you should have: a. compared the sound of a singing voice and a speaking voice. b. sang The Good Morning Song. c. listened to your classmates voice. d. recognized and value ones voice.

Lesson Motivation Listen to the song Good Morning as your teacher plays the video presentation. Your teacher will also sing the song as her way of greeting you.

Now, your teacher greeted you by way of singing a good morning song. This is what we called the Singing Voice. A singing voice is a musical quality of the voice while singing.

Try to perform this activity. 1. Choose a partner. 2. Let your partner sing a song for you. 3. Listen and observe how your partner make sounds by singing. 4. After singing, let her talk about her favorite food. 5. Again, listen and observe how your partner makes sounds while talking. 6. Now it is your turn to do the same thing. 7. Talk about how your singing voice differs from your speaking voice. Learning the Meaning of Sounds

What will I learn? At the end of lesson 3, you should have: a. identified the meaning of sounds b. demonstrated feelings, thoughts and needs using sounds c. shared his opinion that sounds express ones emotion.

Lesson Motivation

Sounds that we hear have meanings. Each of these sounds tell us something. Loud sound awakens us, soft sound relaxes us. Fast sound can make us move. We can express our feelings, thoughts and needs through sounds. Activity 3.1 Listen to the six different sounds your teacher will play. Listen carefully and try to identify each sound you hear. Working With Lines

Lesson Motivation Look at this picture. Is it just like what you see inside your classroom? Observe that lines give form to objects. What lines make up these objects? Look at the book in the picture. The book is marked with lines on it sides. In art, a line is the most basic element used in many different ways. A line starts with a dot or point. A point extended to any direction makes a line.

The drawings show different lines. There are straight lines and curved lines. Did you notice they all start with a dot or point.

Working With Shapes

Shape is also one of the elements of art. Shapes are figures that has length and width but no depth. A shape is formed by lines that meet and enclose. Circle, square, triangle, rectangle, star, oval, diamond, and heart are the common shapes we see. Circle is a figure that has no side and no corner. Square is a figure that has four equal sides and four corners. Triangle is a figure that has three sides and three corners. Rectangle is a figure that has two long sides and two short sides. Oval is an elongated circle

Star is a non-convex polygon which looks in some way like a star

Diamond is a form of rhombus whose four sides all have the same length.

Heart is conventionalized figure or representation of a heart.

Lesson 6

Knowing Color Basics

What will I learn? At the end of lesson 6, you should have: a. described the meaning of colors. b. identified the primary and secondary colors. c. Learned the value of coloring pictures.

Lesson Motivation Your teacher will play a video entitled To The Garden. Watch closely and try to identify all the colors that you see. Record the colors of the things you saw in the video. Use your crayon to write the name of the colors. You may use your notebook or a piece of paper as a recording sheet. What is the most common color that you saw in the garden? How many colors did you see? What is the most common color of the leaves? Shapes and colors make things different from one another. Just like lines and shapes, color is another element of art. The shade of an object as a result of light reflected in our eyes is its color color. Things around us come in different colors. Our eyes tell us what colors we see.

Activity 6.2 Mixing colors. Prepare the following materials:

3 plastic cups of poster colors red, yellow, and blue 3 extra plastic cups for mixing colors

cup of water White Oslo paper Old newspaper Hand towels Paint brush Permanent marker
How to do it: 1. Line your table with old newspaper. This will help you not to stain the table during the activity. 2. Using a marker, label the paint in each cup. 3. Get an empty plastic cup and combine the blue and red paint. Use your paint brush to get a little amount of paint. 4. Mix the two paints evenly. What new color was formed? Remember! clean the paint brush by dipping it in a cup of water. Do this before mixing a new one to make color mixing successful. When you are done with the activity dont forget to clean your work area and dispose the used materials properly. Wash your hands with soap and water. Post your finished work in the classroom and let your teacher rate it!

Let us recall your mixing color activity. Noticed that when we mixed two primary colors, another color appears. This is what we call secondary colors Secondary colors are produced when colors. two primary colors are mixed. The secondary colors are green, orange and violet.

Doing Simple Movements

What will I learn? At the end of lesson 7, you should have: a. enumerated the different parts of the body. b. performed simple body movements. c. became conscious that our body can do simple movements.

Lesson Motivation We do movements with our body. We use our head, shoulders, hands, hips, knees, legs and feet when doing simple body movements. We can move these body parts in different ways. Your teacher will play a video on simple body movements to the tune of Wind the Bobbin Up. You can sing and move along with the video.

Remember! The body parts often used in moving are the head, head, neck, shoulders, elbows, arms, hands, hips, knees, hips, legs and feet. These body parts can do simple movements. Be careful when performing simple body move ments. Your body parts can be injured if you are not careful.
