Andy Wilkinson creates iconic imagery in limited edition screen prints that are a fusion of colour, silver and gold, often including hand-embellishments of gold. Andy refers to his work as Fables: each image is lovingly hand-drawn, and from the original master, Andy creates his screen prints. Andy is a storyteller; he introduces characters and places, sets the scene, but invites us to imagine the narrative. Andy is inspired by the relationship between animals, nature and man. He also explores childrens literature and medieval illuminated manuscripts.

Contemporary Textiles Showcase

Alison Ellen; Helen Chatterton; Nao Fukumoto; Maria-Theresa Fernandes; Craig Fellows; Gillian Royal; Debbie McCarty and Holly Berry An exhibition featuring work by eight exciting textile artists and designers, chosen for their mix of traditional and contemporary techniques and quality of production within their medium. Presenting a range of knitted, woven, felted, embroidered and felted textiles, this exhibition aims to showcase the variety of processes and the impressive results that can be achieved within the field of textiles. The showcase is curated by Alison Woodley.

Knitting Workshop with Alison Ellen Monday 10 December, 10am5pm 45, bring along needles (including double ended needles and a crochet hook) and yarn if you have them. Booking essential, tel: 01252 713208 (max. 12 people) Knit fun 3-d shapes without seams. Participants will create shapes for a Christmas decoration, hat, bag or cushion. All levels are welcome. Alisons approach to teaching design is to take a fresh look at knitting as a constructive textile technique where it is possible to build shapes without seams. We explore how stitches can alter the fabric, using the way stitches are combined to create shaping rather than the dressmaking approach of altering the edges of separate pieces by increasing and decreasing. The aim is to gain confidence to experiment.

Clares work draws upon the intricate shapes and textures in the landscape for inspiration. She is intrigued by rhythmical and repetitive patterns that repeat themselves naturally on both a large and small scale. Clares choice of materials and working methods are crucial to the desired outcomes. Ceramic materials go through a series of transformational processes, paralleling those of the natural world, which bring a strong physical dimension to her work. An influence of cities, mapping, mazes and labyrinths is clearly evident within Clares ceramics as well as her collographs and etchings.
