TRIAL

Witnesses Based upon your PERSONAL EXPERIENCES, you will testify during the trial as to your beliefs about the state of humanity: are we inherently savage OR not? You need to prepare a witness statement (using facts from the book) that includes the basis of your testimony. Then you will prepare a costume for your witness, which you will wear both days of the trial. Depending on which side you are on, lawyers from the prosecution and/or defense will work with you next week to help prepare your testimony. The Witness statement DUE DAY 2, WEEK OF NOVEMBER 12 1. The Witness statement should contain two elements (in 2 paragraphs): a) First Paragraph: Your personal Introduction and background: Who are you? What do you do? What information do the lawyers and judge need to know about your biography? Study the partner paper and the book from which your character comes to help you with this. c) Begin your Second Paragraph with this sentence: I will be a great witness for the _______________ because Study your partner paper and any information you can gather to support your thesis here with experiences or views that prove you are qualified to testify for this side. You may use quotations from your book/story if you would like. The Witness statement must be a typed paper. Write it in the first person (I, me, my, etc). You will bring five (5) copies to class, one for Ms. Peterson, one for the prosecution, one for the defense, one for the judge, and one for you to study.
