Installation Procedures 1. Secure the chassis for service, apply the parking brakes and block the wheels to prevent the vehicle from moving. 2. Open the hood. 3. Loosen the two bolts that secure the air conditioner compressor mounting bracket to the cylinder head. 4. Remove and discard the existing mounting bolt and flat washer that secures the air conditioner compressor mounting bracket to the engine timing cover (refer to the figure 1 above). 5. Apply Loctite 242 to stud-end threads of mounting stud (part No. 107AM5025), then install into the engine timing cover until it bottoms in the mounting hole. 6. Ensure that the mounting ear of the bracket is seated squarely on the timing cover boss, then install nut (part No. 191AM3) and tighten until snug. 7. Tighten the two mounting bracket-to-cylinder head bolts until snug. 8. Tighten the mounting bracket-to-timing cover nut to 48 lb-ft (65 Nm), then tighten the two mounting bracket-to-cylinder head bolts to 63 lb-ft (85 Nm). 9. Remove and discard the existing mounting bolt that secures the air conditioner compressor-to-exhaust manifold support bracket to the manifold. 10. Apply Loctite 242 to the stud-end threads of mounting stud (part No. 107AM5012), then install into the exhaust manifold until bottoming in the mounting hole. 11. Install nut (part No. 191AM3) on the stud and tighten to 48 lb-ft (68 Nm). The labor code and maximum labor allowance for this operation are as follows:
