Procedure:

Include: cognitive engagement & formative assessment (s)

Include possible adjustments if warranted by formative assessment

Possible adjustments: Pass around examples one at a time. First of this is an activity I would do to this song then this is a place this song would take place for me. If students dont understand directions. No Grouping. Students stay at desks

Include grouping if any Closure:

Students will need to clean up supplies. One collects markers, One collects pastels

Homework Start to clean up with 12 minutes left in class /Announcements: No homework.

Reflection (Use APPR guiding questions and provide evidence): If I taught the lesson, again I would slow my directions down. I wouldnt necessarily take longer to explain them, but I would make them clearer, and more to the point. As in, here is the song, this is what we are doing and here are my examples. Doing this would give the students to do their own work. I know the students were engaged the whole time because I circulated the entire time and everyone was working away. Some students even went all the way to the last minute of class because they wanted to finish their picture. I also know they were engaged because the students were excited to start painting as soon as the directions were given. This activity was new to them, which made them eager to participate.

Goals and/or Professional Development Needs/Interests: My goals for next lesson are to be straightforward when giving directions, to allow for more time to create. Id also like to spend more one on one time with students to talk with them about their process, why are they creating what theyre creating.
