The purpose of this assignment is to: Enable you to appreciate what the solar system is made from and demonstrate your understanding of how the universe is changing and the evidence for these changes.

Scenario: You are working with the European Space Agency. Your task is to map our solar system and explain the evidence which suggests the universe is changing over time. This map and evidence is for use in government agencies and therefore needs to be accurate. Task 1 Carry out investigations into the composition of our solar system i.e. stars, planets, dwarf planets etc. You need to map out our solar system for presentation to government agencies, your map can be a poster or PowerPoint presentation This provides evidence for P9 Task 2 Investigate and discuss the main theory of how the universe was formed i.e. the big bang. Include a definition of the theory, evidence for and evidence against and include all references for the sources you use. You can present this as a poster or a written report / fact sheet This provides evidence for M5 & D5 Task 3 Investigate and discuss evidence for how the universe is expanding and how we know this i.e. galaxies moving away from each other (red shift), cosmic background radiation, star galaxies etc. Include an explanation of how these changes occur, evidence for and evidence against these changes and include all references for the sources you use.
