AAL is the assimilation of technology with studentcentered instructional strategies that promote personalized learning focused on achieving high academics and 21st Century Skills anytime and anywhere.

GOAL: Provide a learning environment conducive to changing teaching and learning strategies that focus on 21st Century Teaching and Learning Skills Anytime and Anywhere.

Employ 21st century curriculum & instruction methods that integrate innovative and researchproven teaching strategies, modern educational technologies, and real world resources and contexts.

21st Century Technology Infrastructure additions, upgrades, & modifications


Identify and put in place necessary changes to the overall technology infrastructure that are needed to support the needs of the operational and educational objectives of the district.

21st Century Mobile Devices Research and supply GS students with MDs
Move in the direction of allowing Garden Spot students to bring in their own technology mobile devices and/or provide technology mobile devices for Garden Spot students while redeploying laptop mobile technologies to elementary students.

21st Century anywhere access Teaching and Learning


A comprehensive infrastructure for teaching/learning is necessary to move beyond the traditional model of a classroom into a learning model that brings together teaching teams and students in classrooms, online learning centers, and homes anywhere that people have access devices and an adequate Internet connection. An infrastructure for anywhere learning is necessary to support a society in which learning is life-long.

PA-HLI CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT


Teacher interaction is maximized.
Interacts with students in large groups, small groups and one-on-one. Assessment results are used to adjust classroom and online activities for students. Students also monitor their own assessment results to make adjustments in their learning. Feedback is provided through regular online assessment, one-on-one interaction with the teacher and interaction with peers in small group collaboration.

Assessment is an ongoing activity.

Assessment feedback is immediate.

Technology use is maximized.


Technology is used to deliver individualized and differentiated instruction, is part of teacher-student and student-student small group interactions and is used as part of project-based learning.
Class time is directed and adjusted by the teacher, but the students manage their use of time through differentiated instruction through online material and assessment. Engagement occurs in individualized instruction through online learning and assessment, one-on-one interaction with the teacher and small group interaction with the teacher and other students. Lecture is in a small group & is focused on engaging students in discussion and critical thinking.

Time is extremely structured.

Continue Instructional Strategies Individualized Professional Development thru 12-13 for 7,8, and 9 grade faculty Collect data from PA-HLI and report to PDE for 1213 Work with and research external agencies such as Microsoft Partners in Learning, ISTEs 1to1 Computing, PDE, and Project Red for best practices and future grant opportunities Prepare for Phase 2 of AAL implementation
