The general conditions of the island, with its mild climate, mean there is a wealth of products from the earth, including aubergines, pebre bord and tomtigues de ramellet, not forgetting the production from almond trees, figs, vines and olive trees. The wines are excellent and the oils are extraordinarily delicate and smooth. The production of citric fruits, although very localised, is of a very high gastronomic quality. Products worthy of a great table.
One of the unarguable riches of the island is made up of a series of products that are unique and distinctive of the most traditional Mallorcan gastronomy, such as the curly pastry known as ensamada, the rectangular quartos or the traditional cakes made in local convents. Sweet or savoury flat cakes bring the taste of the landscape to our table. We should also mention water ices, above all those made with local citric fruits. Sobrassada, the islands best-known cured meat, is characterised by its careful preparation using typical ingredients, such as the meat from black pigs -originally from Majorca- and the pebre bord, making it unique throughout the world.
