Theme Question: What makes a home? Focus Question of the Week: What do families do at home? Sight Words: too not Fiction/Nonfiction Text Review: Flower Garden by: Eve Bunting and Home Sweet Home Letters: working on sounds A-Z (www.starfall.com) Phonological Awareness review: beginning, middle, and ending sounds, onset and rime (putting 2 parts of a word together: c-at= cat) Fluency Piece: Some Families (was sent home Monday- focusing on pacing, punctuation marks, fluency, pointing to words as they are read) Vocabulary review: stairs alike busy family home Pre-Decodable Reader: review of all Comprehension: review of all from unit 3 Inquiry project: finished our project today- took family data and made a class graph to show how we are similar and different. Homes and families Pilgrims and Native Americans Thanksgiving Weather (calendar) Season of fall Nature unit starting in reading after Thanksgiving!

writers workshop:

unit: wordless stories Students worked all week on their wordless stories, focusing on quality illustrations that tell a story without words. Students were able to share their stories with the class and put their published books in our class library if they wanted to. Our next unit will begin after Thanksgiving!
