To

Whom It May Concern:

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Jaron Klopstein, in support of his desire to join your team. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Wisconsin, and completing my MBA and PhD studies, I worked many years in management consulting, where I had the opportunity to engage clients in a variety of fast-paced and high-impact business settings, including in the marketing, public relations, and advertising space. Knowing this, I can confidently say that Jaron would be a great asset to your firm. Where Jaron impresses me the most is in his interpersonal rapport, analytical prowess, and deep resolve for success. These characteristics are sure to serve him well in this position. I first met Jaron when he enrolled in my entrepreneurship course last fall. It was clear to me soon thereafter that Jaron would excel in the course. Even while scoring among the top in the class in the regularly assigned Harvard Business Cases and business plan analyses, Jaron remained conscientious about his work, often asking about ways he could improve his analyses even further. His concern was not a matter of grades; rather, Jaron exhibited a drive and genuine interest in continual self- improvement. Jarons maturity was especially obvious in his efforts on the main course projectone where students work with an existing business to create a business development plan. The client situation his team faced, however, was particularly challenging. Jaron nonetheless rose to the challenge without hesitation or complaint. He took initiative to clarify the projects expectations with the client and to work out a plan that could be managed in the time allotted and add considerable value. Throughout the project, Jaron was an outstanding team player, as his teammates later attested. Perhaps the most shining example of Jarons abilities I witnessed, however, was in his efforts as an entrepreneurial leader outside the classroom. Even while balancing the normal pressures facing a full-time student, Jaron successfully ran his own company, Infinity Lacrosse, and served as the President of the UW-Entrepreneurship Association. These efforts required mobilizing the support and energies of a diverse set of stakeholders, and Jaron was a duly impressive leader. In everything Jaron does, he exhibits natural passion, dedication, initiative and self-accountability. Moreover, he has the humility and awareness to seek advice and leverage his personal support network in order to be as successful as possible. Your company will no doubt receive applications from many outstanding job candidates. My letter is intended to call attention to a set of tangible and intangible knowledge, skills, and capabilities, which helps to set Jaron apart from this group. I hope you give his application serious consideration. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by email (cnavis@bus.wisc.edu) or by phone at 608-263-3463.
