DBS3900 GSM Overview of the Installation Scenarios

The APM power cabinet is classified into the APM30 (with the breathable film) and the APM30H (with the heat exchanger). The APM power cabinet supplies -48 V DC power to the BBU and RRU. In addition, the APM power cabinet performs battery management and also monitoring and surge protection. The APM30 (with the breathable film) can house 12 Ah or 24 Ah batteries, which supply power to the distributed NodeB for a short period of time. The Battery Backup Cabinet (BBC), if required, can be configured to implement long-time power backup. The APM power cabinet can provide a maximum of 7 U space for installing transmission equipment. The RRU supports flexible installation options. It can be installed on the wall, pole, and tower.

The scenario has the following features:

l

The BBU is installed on the indoor wall. Thus, the BBU occupies a small space and can use the existing power supply system and transmission system. For a 3G site co-siting with a 2G site, the BBU and the RRU can use the power supply system, transmission system, and antenna system of the BTS in the 2G network. Thus, operators can launch services on the existing 2G network at a very low cost.
