Different cultures, different traditions

We live in a multicultural world where people have different social organizations and because of that, they have different perspectives about the same concepts and ideas. Traditions are the essence of the people, and they are the witnesses of their past and the reason of their present. We all have family traditions and social traditions that we got from our ancestors and some of them will last forever. We are social individuals who need values to live our lives. If we think about the role of women in the world we realize that nowadays, women in the civilized world have got the same rights than men and have achieved social credibility and power. But, as we know in most Muslim countries women have absolutely no rights and live all their lives depending on their parents and later on when they get married to someone they dont even know, they depend on their husbands becoming housewives and mothers. In some countries traditions are so important, that if someone breaks them they are killed for it. Even if we dont agree we must respect traditions because they are the identity of the people.
