Stage 2- Assessment Evidence Performance Tasks: Goal To educate learners how to use web 2.0 tools such using a tablet for teleconferencing, file sharing, and scheduling meetings that are in compliance with NETS Standards.

Role Educate learners that classroom standards are valued when using a tablet as a technological source for presentations, skype, and file sharing. Audience The target audience are adult learners. Situation Participants will setup a tablet to a pc/laptop in order to have a teleconference via skype with other members. They will share files using an electronic file sharing system. Product Performance and Purpose The learner will design a presentation file to share electronically using slideshare, an e-file sharing system and schedule a skype conference call. W How can tablets streamline presentations for adult learners for cyber communications? H Learners will complete a pretest on tablets, teleconferencing, and file sharing. Learners will watch a video on how to connect a tablet to a pc E - Learners will answer general questions testing what they know prior to the workshop. R - Learners will revisit there understandings of tablets, file sharing and teleconferencing. E - Each learner will practice file sharing, connecting the tablet, and teleconferencing through practice exercises allowing feedback from the presentations. T Each learner will demonstrate a presentation using the tablet on file sharing or teleconferencing. O Learners will be tested on their knowledge of tablets, file sharing, and videoconferencing prior to the workshop. During the workshop, learners will complete activities on tablet connections used for presentations on teleconferencing and file sharing followed by a live teleconference using the tablet.

Workshop Evaluation: The workshop was a success. My original plan was to split the workshop into two days. Due to staff numerous travels, I could only get everyone together in on setting. Even that was time consuming because the schedule for the workshop had to be changed several times. The workshop was held in the smallest meeting space which seats approximately 50 students. It was a bit awkward having a total of 6 people in a room that size. The acoustics was great. I have a soft voice anticipating I would need a microphone. That was not the case. I learned that due to sensitivity of some of the work the office do, some of their files cannot be shared, which means that their traditional process must continue. That adds up to
5

about 20% of the files. I think one of the issues is that the administrator got into a standard process. She mentioned she found the file sharing was a more efficient way to send files to the staff working remote. I sent the pre-test to the staff electronically because the four hours we had was very valuable. Anytime I do public speaking, I normally meditate about 10 minutes before I present.

Evaluation Results: All participants completed the evaluation forms by answering all of the questions. There were six survey questions. 1. Was the presentation interesting and helpful? Very interesting (5) Interesting (1) 2. Did you learn any new tools to avoid clutter? Yes (6) 3. Were any of the tools useful to you? Very useful (6) 4. Did the presenter capture the audience? Yes (6) 5. Was the flow of the presenters speech ok? Very interesting (4) Interesting (2) 6. Were the assignments helpful? Very helpful (3) Helpful (3)

Assessment: All 6 staff members attended the workshop. Of the true/false section, four of six students scored 95 and two scored 100. There were a total of four questions.

1. True or False. A PC tablet can be used to communicate with staff away from the office. Answer: True 2. True or False. eFile cabinets can be used to store paperless documents presentations, images, and videos. Answer: True 3. True or False. Using the tablet, screen sharing allow guest to view web pages, applications, presentations, files without printing paper. Answer: True 4. True or False. When using the tablet with Microsoft Outlook, you can manage and schedule meetings. Answer: True

Self-Evaluation: I was informed that the majority of the staff travels at least 50% and the director travels about 60%. Of the six members, only two actually knew how to use the tablet. All of the staff said the workshop was very helpful because there have been a couple of times when the only two staff who knew how to use the tablet were out of the office at the same time. They do presentations and teleconferencing about 80% of their time. During the discussions, it came to my attention that two of the staffs were rebellious in learning how to use the tablet. There reason was that they were not hired to do that type of work. They didnt believe that the Associate/Assistant Director should have to do that type of work. However, when the staff who knew how to use the tablet were out of the office at the same time, the associate/assistant directors decided it was best for to know this information. I did not know very much about this office to discover that it was a bit difficult getting all

staff to attend the one day workshop. It would have been helpful to break the workshop into two days because more information could have been discussed.
