KGSA UW Constitution
ARTICLE I
The name of this organization shall be Korean Graduate Student Association at the University of Washington (KGSA UW).

ARTICLE II
It shall be the purpose of this organization to build friendships among Korean graduate students at the University of Washington and to promote networking through organizations and companies including KSEA (Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association), Samsung, LG, Microsoft and Boeing.

ARTICLE III
Section 1. The majority of the membership of this organization shall consist of regularly enrolled graduate students of the University of Washington. Only those members have voting privileges. Section 2. Undergraduate students, exchange students, post-doctoral researchers, visiting scholars, staff, faculty, alumni, and non-university persons such as spouses of the members may have associate membership status. However, they may not have voting privileges.

ARTICLE IV
The officers of this organization shall consist of: President: Shall represent this organization and direct fellow officers in meetings and decisions, manage all financial accounts and transactions. Vice President: Shall represent this organization and support and advise the President. Secretary: Shall represent this organization and document all decisions and activities. The Secretary will also communicate updates and information to organization members. Public Relations: Shall represent this organization and promote open and positive relationships with various organizations, companies and the public. Membership Coordinator: Shall represent this organization and promote students interested in this organization the necessary materials to become a part of the organization. Membership Coordinator will also work directly with members to meet their needs.

All positions, except President, may have more than one person elected with the approval and agreement of the current executive board. Other positions may also be established on the basis of need with the approval of officers. All officers must be registered students at the University of Washington and the term for each officer shall be for one year.

ARTICLE V
Selection of officers shall be held in the Month of May. Member shall be notified through email and announcements three weeks in advance by a current officer who will not be running again and who is appointed by the officers to direct the elections. If a position is vacant after elections, the new executive board shall appoint a person to fill the vacancy. The procedure for voting is as follows: 1. Interested persons shall contact the director no later than one week before the election date. 2. All candidates must be nominated by at least three other eligible voting members. 3. Voting shall be in the form of a ballot created by the director of elections. 4. Each candidate shall give a speech. 5. The number of eligible voting members present shall be counted before voting takes place. 6. The executive board shall be elected into office with a majority of votes from the previous years officer group. 7. If none of the nominees receive the majority of the votes, a revote shall be taken between the two nominees who have received the highest number of votes. The candidate after the revote with the majority shall hold the position.

ARTICLE VI
Regular meetings of this organization shall be held weekly and must be attended by officers. General organization meetings shall be held at least once a quarter and members shall be notified through flyers, emails, telephone, and previous meetings.

ARTICLE VII
Amendments to this constitution shall be made with the decision of a two-thirds vote of the eligible voting members at any officer meeting. Amendments must be proposed two weeks in advance to the President.
