Training Course on

Islamic Banking Product Development


A six-day training course on Islamic Banking Product Development was held during 10-15 November 2012 at IBTRA, Dhaka. The program was organized by Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Thought (BIIT) and IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking & Finance (IIiBF), Malaysia jointly. Forty eight mid level executives from thirteen banks and five financial institutions were participated in the training program.

The program started by recitation from the Holy Quran and address of welcome by Janab M. Azizul Huq, President of BIIT and renowned Islamic banking consultant of the country. Major Md. Yunus Ali (Retd.), Secretary of BIIT Trust; Professor Dr. Abu Khaldun Al-Mahmood, Vice President of BIIT; Mr. Abdul Awal Sarker, General Manager of Bangladesh Bank Training Academy; Dr. Mahmud Ahmed, Executive VP, IBTRA; Mrs. Mahmuda Sultana, Executive Committee member of BIIT and other executives of BIIT were present in the inaugural session.

The program was concentrated on Islamic banking product development with special focus on Sukuk. Two Malaysian experts and some renowned local experts were the faculty members in this training course. Following papers were presented and discussed in the training

The program was so much participatory and enthusiastic. Participants expressed their gratefulness to the organizers and also shown their keen interest on such kind of training programs in future. All participants were awarded a certificate in the concluding session.
