Unforgettable is an 18-piece swing band native to York, PA, that plays tunes made famous by Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Les Brown, Frank Sinatra, Lena Horne, Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, and many others from the Big Band Era. A traditional big band paying tribute to both the classic and contemporary sounds, we perform composed and arranged music from the glory days of the style in the 1930s up to modern-day big bands such as Brian Setzer and Gordon Goodwin. Our members are skilled, multi-talented musicians, many of whom have performed with other regional groups such as the Spring Garden Band, Gettysburg Big Band, and Red Lion Felton Band. We have been entertaining audiences throughout the Central PA/Northern Maryland region for more than 12 years, performing at such venues as the Yorktowne Hotel, Valencia Ballroom, BWI Airport Marriott Ballroom, and Lake Meade. Unforgettables diverse repertoire also includes sacred, contemporary, and Christmas music. Whether your needs are for parties, dances, fundraisers, or special worship services, we would be delighted to provide live music for your event!

About the Vocalists

James Scofield has been delighting audiences for more than 10 years as Unforgettables lead male vocalist. A prior member of the Virginia Symphony Chorus and Bel Canto, he brings to the band more than 30 years experience performing various musical genres, including big band, classical, and contemporary sacred. James has toured the East Coast and throughout Europe over his career, singing in such varied locales as the former East Germany and South India. Previously, he served as a vocalist for the York Symphony Swing Orchestras Swing into Literacy Galas. James also routinely performs for York Symphony Orchestra Musicales. Tonia Grubb contributes to the band over 20 years of group and solo performances in many musical styles such as jazz, Broadway, country, patriotic, and gospel. A former member of the York Symphony Chorus, she has also performed with the York Symphony Swing Orchestra, U.S. Army National Guard 28th Division Band, and Spring Garden Band. Tonia has worked in theater and more recently served as pre-show entertainment for the American Music Theatres Christmas show. She is a regular soloist for veterans memorial ceremonies at Yorks Prospect Hill Cemetery and Gold Star Mothers Peace and Healing Garden.

About the Directors

Tom McLaughlin (Director) brings over 35 years of musical experience to his leadership of Unforgettable. A woodwind specialist, he has performed as clarinetist with Opera Lancaster, Center Stage Opera, the Atlanta Wind Symphony, and Ben Mauger's Roaring '20s band. In addition to directing and playing saxophone with Unforgettable, Tom leads the Duke Street Deacons (Dixieland band), and serves as assistant director of the Red Lion Felton Band. He also makes regular appearances as a musician or musical director at York Little Theater and Dreamwrights, and appears regularly with other small ensembles throughout the region. Lindy Mack (Assistant Director) has worked in the music industry for over 35 years as a performer, songwriter, and arranger. An accomplished keyboardist, he is also an experienced violinist, saxophonist, and drummer. In addition to playing for big bands, he has accompanied professional and student vocalists, performed with theater orchestras such as Allenberry Playhouse, and played with several local community bands. His rsum encompasses various styles including rock, jazz, folk, pop, classical, new age, and even comedy and punk! Presently, Lindy is a member of the pop/folk music trio, We3, and is Unforgettable's keyboardist and arranger.
