Leadership Team Application Form 2013 - 2015


The Racial Equality and Diversity Professional Interest Section (REDI Section) of Catholic Charities USA is an affinity group for staff and volunteers from Catholic Charities USA member agencies and affiliates, who want to advance racial equality, strengthen the inclusive nature of our workplaces and enhance cultural competence in our client interaction. The Racial Equality and Diversity Section serves as a forum for networking and professional development by sharing best practices, learning new skills, anticipating trends, group problem solving and as a resource for materials, training, and formation tools that reinforce inclusion and equality. The REDI Section is guided by a Leadership Team that is representative of the diversity of models and skills present in Catholic Charities agencies across the country. The team strives to act as servant leaders while providing strategic direction, facilitating networking and coordinating Section activities to advance the purpose of the REDI Section. Thank you for considering application to the REDI Section Leadership Team. The Section is as strong as its members, and we seek a Leadership Team that represents the best of our membership. As you discern application, please consider a few background notes: Each applicant should have the support and encouragement of ones supervisor. Travel to two national meetings includes overnights and transportation and lodging costs that are generally borne by ones employer and or self/family. Each applicant should be prepared to attend up to two in person national meetings and up to five Leadership Team phone conferences. The former are generally two day meetings; the latter are generally 60 minutes. Each applicant should be prepared to serve on at least one Section Project Team; Project Teams are work groups dedicated to the Sections activities. Each Leadership Team members is expected to promote the good of the Section by encouraging others to join the Section, participate in Section trainings and events, and utilize the Sections printed and online resources.
