SETC Undergraduate Funding for Hotel and Flight Application for Technical Theatre:

The South Eastern Theatre Conference (SETC) is one of the largest theatre conferences in the nation. The following is an excerpt from the site that summarizes some of the events and opportunities at SETC. Connect to opportunity in theatre - professional, academic and community - in this gathering for many purposes: to
audition or seek off-stage jobs; to offer jobs in theatre; compete in theatre festivals; perform; participate in design competitions and critiques; attend keynotes, play readings and choose from over 350 workshops; exhibit; look for graduate study opportunities; find students for academic programs; and explore Teachers Institute - a preconvention seminar.

Summary: Through the gracious support of the Student Government Association, the FSU Student Theatre Association (FSU STA) will be able to fund a group of twelve students to attend this conference. FSU STA is excited to provide this opportunity to students and hopes to include as many applicants as funding allows. We encourage those who need the financial assistance and have worked diligently in their craft to take advantage of this and we aim to make this a tradition as FSU STA moves forward. If you are not chosen, please do not be discouraged and apply again in the future. This is open to the entire student body and students from any major are encouraged to apply. Funding: The funding will include the flight and hotel accommodations, the registration fee and job contact fee will be left up to the individual attending. These costs usually range between $150.00 and $170.00 dollars and needs to be self-funded. Please keep this fee in mind before applying and work hard to ensure that if you are given this funding that you will be able to pay your individual registration fee by the deadline on the SETC site. Application Process: In order to increase transparency and bring legitimacy to this project we have created an application process. Due to the limited number of spots and funding available priority will be given to juniors and seniors who will benefit from this as they near graduation and seek future employment. The following page is what we need from you. Please thoroughly address all the questions asked and attach all the documents. No application will be looked at unless it is complete and a copy of the drivers license is attached. This application shows your commitment and desire to attend this conference and will be weighed heavily in the decision making process. There is a strict deadline of Monday, December 3rd at 5pm. If you application is not in the all inboxes mentioned below by that deadline, the application with not be considered. There will be no exceptions to this rule and we apologize for any inconvenience.
