She says that she loves shooting landscapes, architecture, street life, people and culture, but entails special interest in Macro photography. She received no formal education in photography, however she had this special interest that makes her a passionate shooter. She also told us that her love for photography began in Feb2010. She has a full time job in an education company in Hyderabad, however she still makes time to quench her thirst for making brilliant images. She loved painting as a child and feels exhilarated that photography allows her to paint her imagination not with brushes but with light and lens this time. She loves clicking close up of Insects, flowers, drops and every subject that falls in the domain of Macro Photography. CANON Macro 100mm 2.8 fx is her most favorite lens and she feels that it is the

best lens for Macro photography and also uses a Ring flash once in a while when required. Saritha says that Macro photography allows us to see a different world that is filled with the tiny details that usually goes unnoticed by the naked eye and it also gives us a unique perspective of the same. Finding Macro subjects is not difficult, but it requires patience and an eye for the same. Flowers are easy to find any where, it is just about using imagination to shoot them in creative ways and angles. I usually get into Green Bushy areas to locate the insects in my city Hyderabad most of the time, it takes 20-30 minutes for my eyes to get used to spot insects or any other form of tiny wildlife, then it usually gets into the flow. Most of the time, it is hard to capture the subjects as they are shy and fly away or positioned in an odd spot where your camera cannot reach, but some of the subjects are friendly and co-operative, I focus more on these subjects which remain static and undisturbed, I just keep shifting my angles and position until I get the perfect image. I use different perspective in shooting Macro images, sometimes just to capture the action that I get to witness which speaks about the facts and other times, I create a theme using my imagination which speaks about a feeling, action or create mild humor that goes along with the image. Quick Tips revealed to us by Saritha on Macro photography : Macro photography has versatility in its subjects, any small object can be a subject for macro photography. A good macro photo reveals details and textures in the object. We can always find interesting close-up photography subjects anywhere any time, the subjects can be Insects, Spiders, Flowers, Jewelry, Minerals, Water (drops), Mushrooms and it can also be in the form of Abstract and Pattern. Ba sic E sse ntia ls on Fie ld Perfect Subject: When youre working at a close focusing distance, any imperfections become more noticeable and they can end up distracting the viewers attentions or spoiling the beauty of the image. Light: Where ever possible, try to use natural light, however there are times when this isnt possible such as working in the shadowed areas where light levels are low. Learn how to be patient, running around chasing an insect that wont sit still will only get you frustrated. Try to focus on the subjects that are static and co-operative Have an eye for smaller things in life and they can give you beautiful images. Lets take a tour at some of Sarithas Macro shots

Weaver Ant and Tree Hopper Social Behavior 1/60 sec, f/9, ISO 320 Social insects defend their own colonies and some species also protect their mutual partners. The tree hopper provides sap for food to the ants and in return the ants will provide protection to the Tree hopper. The minute thing in red texture seen on the top of the twig is Tree hopper. This Ant was seen with the Tree Hopper for quite some time.
