Theta Lambda Chapter History

The Theta Lambda chapter of Order of Omega was chartered on Baylors campus in 1987. The organizations presence on campus has waxed and waned since then. Within the last year of operation, the Chapter has worked hard on building its image on campus. During the 2011-2012 school year, the chapter diversified its membership, created two new committees, imported a faculty of the month program, and recieved a number of scholarships from headquartes. Thetha Lambda is striving to gain a greater influence within Baylors Greek community. Baylor Order of Omega members are responsible for the planning and execution of the All Greek Awards ceremony that occurs during the Spring semester. This is an event held to acknowledge the incredible accomplishments of Greek chapters from all over Baylors campus. Order of Omega members also played an integral role in the preparation for Greek Week 2012. The canned food drive for Caritas this year was also sponsored by Order of Omega

Order of Omega continues to achieve its mission by providing support to undergraduate and graduate members every year through the Order of Omega Scholarship & Fellowship Program. Established in 1959, Order of Omega is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Order of Omega awards over $60,000 in scholarships to deserving undergraduate and graduate members each year. This year, Order of Omega will have awarded over $1 Million Dollars to members through the program. The recipients are able to use the award monies for education related expenses. Order of Omega is able to fund these programs through membership dues and donations contributed by Order of Omega alumni. It is through their generosity that these programs, which benefit our undergraduate brothers and sisters, are supported.
