Attorney (Johannesburg) Statelessness and refugee rights


LHRs Refugee and Migrant Rights Programme is looking for an attorney, based in Johannesburg, to work in a joint LHR / UNHCR initiative to prevent and reduce statelessness of SADC nationals in South Africa. The ideal candidate will be an admitted attorney with litigation experience and good writing and research skills. Knowledge of refugee and administrative law would be an advantage.

Attorney/paralegal (Musina) Refugee and Migrant Rights


LHRs Musina office offers legal assistance to refugees and migrant workers in the northern border region of Limpopo. As a member of a dedicated legal team based in Musina, this lawyer or experienced paralegal will be responsible for monitoring immigration detention facilities and providing legal assistance to refugees and asylum seekers in Limpopo Province.

Attorney (Durban) Refugee and Migrant Rights


LHRs Durban law clinic is looking for a self-motivated admitted attorney with an interest in refugee law and public interest litigation. Good writing and litigation skills are essential.

Attorney (Upington) Land Reform and Housing


As part of LHRs focus on land reform and housing, the Upington office offers legal services to rural dwellers and farmworkers in realizing their security of tenure rights and access to essential socio economic rights. The ideal candidate must be an admitted attorney with an interest in land reform, tenure security and housing law. Litigation experience, drafting skills and commitment to social justice are essential requirements. Negotiable salary according to qualifications and experience within NGO sector benchmarks.
