Buttons on Chat window from left to right: Undo Last Move This is used to step back any unit

movements made on the game board. Step forward through Logfile This is used primarily for email games. Look in the Vassal Help files for f urther information on this function. Server Controls Reference the readme file attached with this mod for in-depth info on this f unction. Tiles/Units [Markers] Turn Counter: This is used to keep track of turns during play. It will repeat its positio n in the chat window when a selection is made. Drag out this counter somewhere o n the board so each player can see it. It will not function from inside the Tile/ Units window. Right-Click Turn Counter Menu -(ON/OFF) INITIATIVE CALL CTRL I This selection is used to call for a roll for initiative. After the roll i s made by all players, select this function again to turn it off, then use the END TURN function to select the winner of the roll. -END TURN CTRL E This is used to select between PLAYER 1 and PLAYER 2 turns. -Delete CTRL X: To remove this counter from the game board. Creature Focus: This is an optional marker used to show where a creatures attack/spell is co ming from and aiming at. To use it effectively, place the marker first on the originating unit, then drag to the effected unit or location. This action w ill repeat its movement on the chat window. Delete the marker after its use. An eaxample of its use: -Player 1 (types in chat window): "Arcane Archer shoots an arrow" -Player 1 places the marker on his Arcane Archer then drags the marker to an enemy

unit. This will display in the chat window: "Creature Focus moves R5 -> M1 1" This notifies Player 2 where the attack came from and where it is going to. Rather than using this marker you could just simply type in your intentions: "Arcane Archer (R5) shoots an arrow at Eye of Gruumsh (M11)" Right-Click Creature Focus Menu -Delete CTRL X: To remove this marker from the game board. Radius 2 / Radius 4 This marker is used to overlay a spell effect. Right-Click Radius Menu -Delete CTRL X: To remove this marker from the game board. Cone 1 / Cone 2 This marker is used to overlay a spell effect. Unfortuanetly we were not ab le to effectively combine both markers so that it can be rotated within one marker . So both markers will need to be dragged out to get an idea of where you wish to show a spell's area of effect. Right-Click Cone Menu -Rotate CW CTRL ] To rotate the cone clockwise. -Rotate CCW CTRL [ To rotate the cone counter-clockwise. -Delete CTRL X: To remove this marker from the game board.

[Tiles] Tiles can be tricky to manipulate once placed on the game board. It can be easier orientate the tile while its in the Tiles/Unit window prior to dragging it o ut on the game board. To manipulate a tile after its been place: -To Drag it to a new loaction Shift+Left-Click it once to get a selection box around the tile. Then Left-Click+hold and drag transparent tile to new location and drop. -To access the tile's right click menu Shift+Right-Click it once to open the menu, then left click the selection y ou want.

To prevent the Non-Stacking piece error message from popping up each time yo u hit a tile on the board, select "Don't show this dialog again" on the error window that pops up. Right-Click Tile Menu -Rotate CW CTRL ] To rotate the tile clockwise. -Rotate CCW CTRL [ To rotate the tile counter-clockwise. -Delete CTRL X: To remove a tile from the game board. [Units] Units are selected from the Tiles/Unit button on the Chat window Commander units are marked with a star on the top left corner of the unit To move a normal sized unit on the board, left-click+hold and drag transpare nt unit to the square you desire, aiming for the center of the square. For lar ge units, aim for the four square corners you wish to place them on. If you need to return a unit to a previous location because of an error, its safer and more efficent to count how many times it was moved on the chat window an d then hit the Undo Last Move button (top left button on Chat window) the same numb er of times. Right-Click Unit Menu -Unit Name (HP) CTRL H: This is used to keep track of the units hitpoints. The units hitpoints are defaulted to the starting hitpoints of that unit. -Condition CTRL C: Use this to mark a unit with a condition. This can be used to mark units a s ROUTING, DEAD, STATUE, POISONED, AC+2, etc. To reset the condtion, just de lete the text from the Condition window and hit OK. -Mark Moved CTRL M: When a unit makes it initial movement on its turn, a marker will appear on the upper right corner of the unit. If your unit decides to take a full action and not move, you will need to select this to show it move is completed for the round. Also use this to deselect the movement marker if the unit routed before its

turn during a round. To deselect all the unit moved markers after the end of a round, use the "Mark all pieces on this map as not moved" button on the chat windo w. -Choose Player Color CTRL P: All the units are set to Player 1 (Green) by default. Once Player 2 choose s his units, right click each unit and select Choose Player Color (Ctrl-P). This will select the only other color red. To revert the unit back to the previous c olor, just select Choose Player Color (CTRL-P) again. -Delete CTRL X: To remove a unit from the game board. Dice To use the dice, simply hit the associted dice button. It will show the res ult to all players in the chat window. Then add any modifiers to roll and type in the final result in the chat window. Its good to call out what the roll is for prior to hitting the dice button. Snapshot Used to make a snapshot of the game board. Look in Vassal Help files for mo re info on this function. Zoom IN/OUT Used to zoom in and out of the game board. This only effects the player usi ng it. LOS Line of Sight function. Only the player using it will see its effects. To use, Left-Click+hold on a point any where on the game board and drag to another l ocation to check line of sight. In the Edit Preferences menu, you can select your L OS to always snap-to-grid. MOV To unmark all units that have a active moved marker on the game board. This function is normally selected after a Roll for Initiative has been made for a new round.
