10. Tachometer - if your watch is provided with a tachometer scale

The tachometer is a feature that measures the speed of a vehicle (for example of a car). The maximum period to be measured is 60 seconds. If the chronograph is started at the beginning of the distance measurement, and stopped after 1 km, you can read the average speed in km/h from the position of the chronograph second hand. F.ex.: If 1 km is covered in 45 seconds, the average speed will be about 80 km/h (this can be read from the scale on the case bezel or dial of your watch).

Precautions

Avoid exposing your watch to direct sunlight or leaving it in a high temperature location for a long period of time. Do not leave it in a cold place either. This may cause damage to the functioning of your watch and shorten the lifetime of the battery. Do not operate the crown when the watch is wet. Avoid strong shocks. This watch supports normal shocks while you sport, but avoid dropping it on the ground. Severe shocks could cause serious damage to the mechanism. Also avoid strong magnetic fields. Keep the watch clean. A watchband will easily become soiled due to dust and perspiration. Even a stainless or gold plated band may begin to corrode if it has not been cleaned for a long time. The links of the bracelet may lose their flexibility, when not cleaned regularly. Wash the metallic watch band with a brush in soapy water. After that, wipe well with a soft cloth having good water absorption properties to eliminate all water. A good advice: Have your battery replaced by a professional watchmaker! He can check the condition of the O-rings and replace them if necessary, in order to keep your watch water resistant even after a battery replacement.
