Jelly Bums Free Patterns

Abbreviations
CO - cast on
K - knit
P - purl
Kfb - knit front and back (Knit a stitch, leaving stitch on left needle; knit into the back
loop of this stitch)
K2tog - knit two stitches together to make one
Sts or st - stitches
St-st - Stockinette stitch, knit one row purl the next
Garter Stitch - knit every row
*.......* - repeat the pattern set within the asterisk
BO - Bind off

11. *k2tog* along (4sts)
Baseball Cap
Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Draw tail
Materials through remaining stitches and pull tightly
 Set of 3.25mm needles (UK 10, US 3) and secure. Weave in any loose ends.
 5g Double Knitting (DK) yarn
 Yarn needle Brim
 Scissors Pick up 11sts from the front middle at the
bottom of the cap piece
Cap 1-4. Garter stitch 4 rows
Cast on 24 5. *K2tog* 5 times, k1 (6sts)
1-6. (Begin with Knit) st-st 6 rows 6. *K2tog* along (3st)
7. *K2tog, k4* along (20sts)
8. *p2tog, p3* along (16sts) Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Draw tail
9. *k2tog, k2* along (12sts) through remaining stitches and pull tightly
10. *p2tog, p1* along (8sts) and secure. Weave in any loose ends.

13. BO
Waistcoat
Secure the yarn ends and weave in any
Materials loose yarn.
 Set of 3.25mm needles (UK 10, US 3)
 5g Double Knitting (DK) yarn Front sides (make 2)
 Yarn needle Cast on 4
 Scissors 1- 4. (Begin with knit) st-st 4 rows
5. *kfb* along (8sts)
Back 6-9. (Begin with purl) st-st 4 rows
Cast on 15 10-12. Garter stitch 3 rows
1- 4. (Begin with knit) st-st 4 rows 13. BO
5. Kfb, k6, kfb, k5, kfb, k1 (18sts)
6-9. (Begin with purl) st-st 4 rows Secure the yarn ends and weave in any
10-12. Garter stitch 3 rows loose yarn.

Finishing
Line up the back, left and front side of the waistcoat with the wrong sides together.
Whipstitch together the row ends and cast on stitches, with corresponding colours on each
piece.
*NOTE* The blue lines are areas which should NOT be whip stitched together. Make sure
the leave enough space for the arms to go through the arm holes.

Suggestion
Knit three Jelly bum pigs and a wolf, then add three different coloured waistcoat and/or
baseball caps to the pigs and use to illustrate ‘The three little Pigs’ story for children.
