CAUSES OF DELAY
1. Target Completion period is 5 years is unrealistic and the delay is apparent. 2. Remoteness of site. a. Shortage of skilled man power. b. Slow reaction to construction materials. 3. Geological Condition. a. Delay in foundation excavation of Dam. b. Increase in quantity of concreting. 4. Seismological Condition a. New Dawki fault b. Delay in design. 5. Water Chemical Condition (Acidity) a. In view of acidity of river, special concrete, paints etc. had to be provided after some research and design works. 6. Heavy Rainfall (Cherrapunje Belt) a. Early rainfall b. Heavy rainfall causing flood. c. Less working time. As a result of Early and Heavy rainfall there has been many floodings in the work site but abnormal flooding had occurred on :a. 8th October, 2009 b. 20th May, 2011. 7. High head of the Project a. In view of High head, the machine RPM is fixed at 600. b. This result in high pressure etc. develop at the Power House which require utmost care and caution.

PHYSICAL PROGRESS OF WORKS OF THE

MYNTDU LESHKA HYDRO ELECTRIC PROJECT (3 X 42 MW) 1. ROAD The constructions of all road works connecting different sites in the Project are completed.

2. BUILDING The constructions of all buildings are completed, except for Permanent Building, Type-IV at Power House Colony where the works are in progress.

11. POWER HOUSE (ELECTRICAL) a. M/s. Shyama Power Erection of all Auxiliaries in Power House is completed. Testing of all equipments is in progress for Unit III. b. M/s Andritz Hydro Generation started on December 2011 for 1st Unit Auxiliaries Cabling & Termination in progress for Unit-III. c. M/s. Vijai Electricals Erection of Equipment for Unit-III in progress.

CONCLUSION: 1. The 1st Unit is in generation and as on date more than 16 mu of energy is generated. 2. Synchronization of Unit II started on 30th March 2012. 3. Target completion date for Unit III is September 2012.
