60 Years and Going Strong

Ducci Electrical Contractors has upheld a tradition of impeccable performance ever since its inception six
decades ago, and it will take much more than a recession to break this pattern, it says.

N ow in its 60th year of business, Torrington, Conn.-

based Ducci Electrical Contractors continues to
thrive despite the economy. The company is
backed by a rich, ambitious history.
Though the company is cautious, its industry niche is
specialized enough that, to date, it remains relatively
untouched by the downturn. In addition, the company has
expanded to doing, among other things, complex catenary
work for railroads – an added capability that furthers its
list of customers.
This is due in large part to a capable, dedicated staff, one
that has been recognized by customers throughout the
industry, President Richard Ducci explained in a recent
interview with Construction Today.

He transcended from being a local contractor to per-
forming larger work in major cities in Connecticut. Today,
we’re a major contractor in the state and typically are one
of the top 75-100 largest electrical contractors in the
nation.
CT: What are some recent company developments?
RD: Over the past several years we’ve performed a sig-
nificant amount of railroad catenary type work,(electrification
of the railroad) some as the prime contractor. It entails
high voltage lines and structures for the operation of trains.
We started drilling the cassion foundations ourselves a cou-
ple of years ago. We’ve procured all the prerequisite equip-
ment, which has enabled us to engage in this very specialized
work. It’s a big investment monetarily and also in terms of
know-how.
CT: What else does the project entail?
