OWNER’S (OPERATOR’S) MANUAL
AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
· This instruction manual describes special instructions for operating the KITO manually lever operated hoist model
L5 with overload limiter (OLL). In addition to this manual, read Owner’s (Operator’s) Manual and Safety Instructions
for Manually Lever Operated Chain Hoist Model L5 before use and follow the instructions.
Mandatory
· Do not store the hoist for a long period in the atmosphere with a high oil content.
· Do not lower excessively.
Prohibited
Note
· If OLL is activated with the rated load or less, or the part such as friction clutch needs to be replaced, contact your authorized
KITO dealer or KITO sales offices.
· In the case that the hoist is attached to the hook of crane, OLL will not be activated under an overload.

An excessive overload via the lever activates OLL which slips select wheel held between clutch plates by the
pressure of spring disc. This function prevents damage to the product or load chain.
· Do not disassemble or adjust friction clutch assembly (female thread, clutch plate, select wheel, roller, roller
spring, spring disc holder, spring disc, adjust nut and spring pin).
· OLL will not be activated in free chaining mode (in the pulled state of free chain knob).
Prohibited · Do not operate the hoist in free chaining mode under a load.
PERIODIC Inspection
Read Periodic Inspection Manual for Manually Lever Operated Chain Hoist Model L5 (to be separately provided as
requested) and follow the instructions. In addition, check the following items.
Deformation Check No deformation beyond the limited value. Replace the Free

Friction Clutch Check No missing or loosen sparing shaft. Replace the friction
visually clutch.
If it is loose, fix it
tight.
Spacer Check No large deformation, damage or wear. Replace the spacer.
