I.

Introduction
Increasing efficiency has now widely been a major concern of business enterprises in every industry sector, country and region. ISO (2012) has defined efficiency as the ability to achieve objectives by implementing processes to develop products or services of optimal quality with minimal waste, expense, or unnecessary effort. Efficiency can help organizations maximize profits and meet their goals, and is crucial for success in todays challenging and competitive economic environment. The core of such definition is thus how well our endeavors formulated in policy and strategy to minimize wastes directly or indirectly produced in the activity to reach better results can be implemented. Related to this is our reality of todays highly competitive and complex world in which the issue of sustainability, viewed from an economic, environmental and societal perspective, will have to mean that businesses must be referred to efficiency across a wide range of measures and issues. All these have then put standardization not only for rationalization but also a strategic asset and instrument of companies and states in competing for markets. The governments of the member countries of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) for example have decided to implement standardization education in their countries while European countries have long put policy and strategy as well to promote the European Standardization system into practice. Much has been talked about industries and companies as the agents to enhance standards with benefits taken within their respective domains. However, strongly related to standardization is peoples attitude as the users towards standardization. This discussion then addresses two points; first strategies of how best to put standardization from socio-cultural perspective into a common culture of our human civilization and second, best practices of green industries in the global market.
