USB Driver Installation Manual for EM Pro

Before using Thank you very much for using Yoshimura EM Pro. Before using the interface cable, please read this manual carefully for driver installation.

Applicable operation system Microsoft Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista For Microsoft Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, Windows XP For Microsoft Windows 2000 SE, Windows XP, Windows Vista

Driver installation procedure


This section explains an example installation of the driver into a PC with Windows XP with supplied CD-ROM. There are mainly 2 steps for the installation. 1. Copying the driver The interface cable is not connected, and then install with the CD-ROM with regular

software installation procedures. The driver will be copied in the hard disc. 2. Driver installation After copying the driver, when the interface cable is connected, Found New

Hardware will be shown. Follow the messages for the installation. The driver will be installed into the system.

Copying the driver


Double click the icon either CP210X_Drivers.exe or CP210X_VCP_Win2K_XP_S2K3.exe in the CD-ROM. Then installation will start. Click Next for the next step.

Click Yes for the next step.

*The driver for Vista, select I accept the terms of the license agreement and click Next.

Confirm the destination location of the folder for the copied file. Usually, the folder name is C:SiLabsMCUCP210X, but other folder can be selected manually by clicking Browse. Then select a folder and click Next.

*The folder name of the driver for Vista is C:SiLabsMCU. Click Next, and then click Install.

Copying starts.

When copying is finished, the left window will show up. Click Finish to close the window.

The driver is copied in to the hard drive. Next step is the installation for the driver.

Driver installation
When the Interface cable is connected to the PC, the left window will show up.

If the left window shows up in a short while, check No, not this time and click Next.

In a short while, the left window will show up. Check Install from a list or specific location [Advanced] then click Next.

Confirm if the driver is in the copied folder. If it is correct, click Next. If it is not correct, click Browse.

When Browse is clicked, the left window will show up. Then select the WIN file and click OK. Click Next to go to next step.

When the left window show up while looking for the new hardware, select the location of the copied driver, then click Next.

*The left picture is Japanese version.

The installation begins.

During the installation, the left window would show up, but ignore and click Continue Anyway.

When the installation is completed, the left window will show up. Click Finish to close installation wizard.

If the left indication shows up on the right corner of the display, perform the installation wizard again. (After the left indication is disappeared, the top window on the page 4 will show up.)

When the installation is completed, Your new hardware is installed and ready to use. will be shown and the USB driver can be used.

Click START then select Control panel and click System. Then click Hardware.

Click Device Manager on the left window.

Confirm the port number by clicking + for Port (COM and LPT) to see the partition.

This left window shows that COM3 has the partition.

In EM Pro menu, go to Set

Communication then

change the port to designated COM port.

Uninstalling the driver

Click START then select Control panel and click Add and Remove Programs. If the left window shows up, click CP210xUSB to UART Bridge Controller then, click Change/Remove.

*Except the driver for Vista.

When the left window shows up, click Yes.

Click OK.

Next, in the Add and Remove Programs, click Silicon Laboratories CP210x Evaluation kit Tools Release 3.3, then click Change/Remove.

*The driver for Vista, click Silicon Laboratories CP210x VCP Drivers for Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista.

The left window will be shown, wait for a little while.

The left window shows up, this window also shows up when modifying the already installed device. Remove is for uninstalling, check and click Next.

* Except the driver for Vista.

When the left window shows up, click OK.

Uninstalling starts.

When the left window will show up, click Finish to close the window. Uninstalling is completed.
