Christmas Wafers
Christmas wafers, unleavened layers with nativity pictures pressed into them, are now available at the rectory. In the packet with the wafers are informational sheets describing their history as well as possible prayers and devotional ceremonies that may be incorporated into your Christmas celebration. Traditions involving the wafers are particular to the individual families who follow them. Prayers are said and songs may be sung. It is a time of unity, love and sharing with those gathered around the table at Christmas.
A ote of Thanks
Dear Fr. Mahon, On behalf of The Little Sisters of the Poor and the Residents of Saint Josephs Home for the Elderly, I would like to thank you and your parishioners for the generous parish donation in the amount of $5,127.15 in response to our recent door Collection at Our Lady of Peace Church. The Constitution of the Little Sister lays down that We will make charity the soul of our conduct not an obligation, but charity. If this is true for the Little Sisters, then surly this should apply to all Christians in their relations with others. Every event and person in our lives present an opportunity for us to transcend ourselves. The Little Sisters of the Poor and our Residents appreciate the friendship and support of you and your parish community in the Little Sisters mission to serve the elderly. Please be assured that we will keep you and your parishioners in our prayers Gratefully yours, Sr. Cecilia L.S.P.

We truly appreciate the work that Adam Smith and his crew did for the Parish a few weeks ago. They cut, the large fallen pine tree that lay on the front lawn of the church after Sandy, into manageable and neat pieces. God bless your efforts and we are very grateful.
