HYGIENIC CONDITIONS FOR THE OVERALL FACTORY Observe the hygienic conditions given below strictly to achieve thorough hygiene in the factory. 1. Always keep the floors and drains clean and ensure that all food particles are removed and washed thoroughly.
2. All the light fittings, glasses in the Production area should be kept

clean and dust free. Glass lights should be covered with acrylic.
3. Ensure removal of cobwebs if any, in any part of the factory building

and production floors. 4. Ensure that toilet blocks are maintained clean and washing facilities are available. Also ensure that water taps are closed when not in use.
5. Collect all waste and rubbish in receptacles/bins and do not allow it to

scatter on the floor. 6. Ensure before start of processing/washing a. Solid waste disposal arrangement. b. ETP is in working condition. c. Availability of water. 7. Keep the immediate surroundings of the premises clean and free from rubbish, overgrown vegetation and waste material.
8. Ensure scrap materials are kept in the place provided for it and should

be disposed off at regular intervals.


9. Ensure water is potable by getting the same regularly analysed. (Once

a week). Underground and overhead tanks to be thoroughly cleaned atleast once in a quarter.

10. All cleaning equipments, chemicals, brooms, etc, should be kept

below the staircase leading to workers entry. 11.Ensure that Pest control; treatment is carried out on a regular basis to avoid rodents, insects once in a week. PERSONAL HYGIENE 1. Under no circumstances will any authorized person be allowed to enter the production area when the production is on. Permission for visitors to enter the production areas shall be obtained from the Senior Manager HRD or the GM Production.
2. All employees on the Production floor must ensure that they wear

proper PPEs which will consist of Apron, Cap, Mask etc. 3. Employees shall ensure cleanliness of the PPEs twice a week.
4. Every worker/staff working in the factory should be medically fit and

free from any contagious diseases. They should be medically examined once in a quarter.
5. Every workman/staff working in the production area should be clean,

with finger nails cut and cleaned adequately. 6. No one shall smoke or chew tobacco/paan/ inside the factory premises.

7. Any person with cuts and open sores on fingers must not start work

and must report to their supervisor and then to the medical centre.

8. Canteen workers must maintain and use gloves for handling food. The gloves should be kept clean and sanitized before use. Hands must be washed and sanitized even though the gloves are worn.
9. Food and beverages are not permitted inside the work place and is

strictly Prohibited. 10. Maintain lockers clean and free of soiled clothing and food materials to prevent attracting pests. 11. Avoid uncontrolled uncovered coughing and sneezing in the production area.
12. Use chlorine/warm water solutions to sanitize utensils such as

spoons, knives, scrapers and tubes etc.


13. Keep material handling equipments clean and well maintained at all

times. 15. Do not use dirty or broken pallets, torn and soiled rubber mats which are not to be permitted in the production area. 16. Keep the ground and floors free of litter, wastes or refuse of any kind. 17. Littering practices, which cause poor housekeeping or other unsanitary conditions are prohibited. Put all refuse in covered rubbish containers. 18.Wash your hands and sanitize after handling rubbish drums or pallets. 19. Store production cleaning equipment such as brushes separately from the floor cleaning equipments. 20. Do not drag cleaned equipments across the floor.

21. Do not bring live or artificial plants or flowers into production areas, production area offices or corridors opening directly production areas. 22.Brushes used to clean drains are for drain cleaning only and must not be used for other purposes. Store them separately from any other brushes. 23. Pins, staples, are not permitted in the production areas, because they may get embedded into the products. CLEANING PROCEDURE FLOORS
1. Wash and Mop the floor with soap solution, bleaching powder,

followed by rinsing with water, followed by wiping of the floor. 2. Undertake floor washing atleast once in a week and maintain records for the same. 3. Do not allow any water clogging on the floors, toilets and near the drainages.. 4. Clean off all spillages especially chemicals if any in the washing area from the floor immediately. 5. Use naphthalene balls in closets, toilets, urinals and put dettol or phenyl in each drainage point. EQUIPMENTS

Undertake all equipment cleaning as per the cleaning schedule. Maintain record for the same. Ensure cleanliness of all the equipments, tanks, pipelines and overall systems by physical checking, everyday before start of work. While not in use please keep the equipments clean and neat at all times. GENERAL STORES Floors should be broomed daily and mopped once a week. Walls, shutters to be kept clean, dust free and cobwebs should be removed daily.
