Chapter 2: Squares, Square Roots, Cubes, Cube Roots
Squares of Numbers
The square of a number is when a number multiples by
itself.
Example:
3 x 3 = 3
(-4) x (-4) = (-4)
x = ( )
Perfect squares are squares of whole numbers.
Example:
1x1=1
2x2=4
3x3=9
Therefore, 1, 4 and 9 are perfect squares.** pls write down the
prefect square from 1 to 400. ** and, this is a must to ensure that
every student can memorise and answer you***
Square Root of positive Numbers
The square root of a number is a number that when
multiples by itself is equal to the given number.
Example:
5 x 5 = 25
6 x 6 = 36
Ms. Ti 012-9102768

Therefore, 5 and 6 are the square root of 25.????

Multiplication of two square roots.
Example:
m x m = (m)
m x n = (mn)
a x b x c = (abc)
Cubes of Numbers
The cube of a number is the product of the number is
multiplied by itself twice.
Example:
a x a x a = a
4 x 4 x 4 = 4
(-9) x (-9) x (-9) = (-9)
Cube Roots of Numbers
The cube root of a number is the number which the
number is multiplied by itself twice, is equal to the given
number.
Example:
27 = 3 x 3 x 3
=3
Therefore, the cube root of 27 is 3.
125 = 5 x 5 x 5
Ms. Ti 012-9102768

=5
Therefore, the cube root of 125 is 5.

** you have to add a list of cube,
Let say 23 =8, 33 =27.. until u make sure everyone of
them know 113**
** u dont have the exercise showing that 42=16,
0.042=0.0016.u have to give more examples on this type
of question so that student is able to answer without
depending too much on calculator.**
