Dothan Dojo
This document is designed to keep track of your practice of each individual waza. I have included the arts we are currently practicing : MJER Iaijutsu, Yoshukai Iai , Kendo Kata,
Usually, at the Dojo, we practice each waza between 3 and 4 times, in order to memorize the moves, correct or fine-tune them. This is good, but this not enough. After Dojo practice, we need to practice more so the waza becomes part of us. Personally, I found that practicing a waza 10 times in a row (or more) allows me to pay attention to some details I may not have seen at the dojo, I can experiment, adjust positions, actually get the physical feeling for it that leads to actual learning. It also often raises new questions that can be later addressed with my instructor. It is very simple of use : every time you practice one waza 10 times, you record it by drawing a line in the row of that particular waza don't bother recording anything you practiced less than 10 times, it is not worth it. It is often said that in order to master one waza, one has to practice 10,000 times. According to this, you simply need to record 1000 lines for each waza... You may have to use several sheets... Actually, practicing 10,000 times really means that you have to practice all of your life. But that is a different story... Have fun Frederic Lecut

Record with one line every time you perform a waza 10 times. If you practice less than 10 times in a row, it is not really worth recording. When all the lines of a sheet are full, start another sheet
