RequirementsfortheSKYPElessonevaluation 1. Youwillbeevaluatedonaweeklybasishowwellyoucanperformthatunitsfingerexercisefor independenceofthelefthand,fingerplacement,dexterity,speedandplectrumTechnique. 2. YouarerequiredtomemorizethatunitschordsandplayalongwiththeMIDIfile(s).Therewill beanumberofTempos(relativespeedsoftheMIDIfile)availableforyou(slow,medium,fast). YouwillnotbeevaluatedonhowfastyouplaytheChordexercisebuthowwellyoucan transitionbetweenthechordsinasmoothandefficientnature. 3. TherewillbeweeklyTheoryassignments,bothwrittenandhaveanoralnature.Iwillbeasking questionsthatrelatetothatunitswork.Youwillbeevaluatedonhowefficientlyandsuccinct yourresponsesaretothequestionathand. 4. Attheendofeveryunit(exceptUnit1)willbesongexamplesandsongstylesthatwillutilize thatweeksfingerandchordexercises.Youwillbeexpectedtoplaythesesongs(orpartsof) bothwiththeoriginalrecordedversionandwithout. DiscussionEtiquette Inthiscourse,Iwelcomethecreationofadialoguethatisopen,thoughtful,andfoundedonthebasisof yourwork.Attimes,someofyouwillnotagreeonthepositionsthataretakenintheforum.Thereisa lotofmisinformationoutinthecloudinreferencetoguitarandcontemporarymusic.Iplantodebunk alotofit.Thisdiversityiswelcomed.However,eachstudentmustexerciserespectforthethoughtsand commentsthatarepostedbytheirpeers.Ifanypostedcommentsareinappropriateorofanoffensive nature,theywillberemovedfromtheforumandIwilladdresstheissuewiththeauthorofthecontent.
