ThissectionincludesadescriptionoftheBSARETsystem,andimportantinformationaboutthe
product,suchascompatibilityandcertification.

2.1. The BSA RET system

TheBSA,fromTenXcWireless,isbasedonapatentedadvanced
beamshapingtechnology.Anindustryfirst,itusesunique
asymmetricalbeamshapingtoimplementhigherorder
sectorization,essentiallysplittingonesectorwithtwohigh
performanceasymmetricalbeamsfromasingleantenna.The
divisionallowsforbetteruseoflimitedspectrum,delivering
maximumcapacityperformancegainswithsimple
implementationandreducedsitecount.

TheBSAincorporatesthelatestinarraytechnologywithasingle
panelsupportingtwosectorsinahighlycompactradomedesign.
TheRETseriesBSAenablesremotecontroloftheelectrical
downtiltoftheantennainthefieldwithsealedAISG2.0compliant
RETactuators.EachsectorintheantennahasitsownRET
actuator.Theelectricaldowntiltofthebeamsineachsectorcanbe
independentlyadjustedtoprovideflexibilityinoptimizationand
tomaximizespectralefficiencyandperformance.

Theactuatoroperatesasastandaloneunit,withnoneedforthecompleteantenna,to
performcompatibilitytestsinthelab.
Quickadjustmentcycle,whichmeansthatthedurationofnetworkdowntimeisshorter.
OtherfeaturesoftheRETsysteminclude:

4.1. Installing the portable controller


ToinstalltheGemintekHabilisPortablecontroller,performthefollowingprocedure(see
Figure6):

InstallthesoftwareapplicationthatwasshippedwiththeGemintekController,onyour
laptoporotherdevice.

2.

ConnecttheAISGcabletotheAISGportontheHabilisPadapter.

3.

ConnecttheUSBcabletotheUSBportontheHabilisPadapterandtoyourlaptopor
equivalentdevice.

4.

Connect24VDCpowersupplytothepowerportontheHabilisPadapter.
