I have over 13 years work experience as a senior manager, NGO leader and technical expert on gender,education and human rights. I pioneered the first country gender development in rural areas . sunlighthdn 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 . Designed and conducted an annual eight-week residential training program for young men and women from three religions to become leaders of the future in human rights advocacy and activism. Developed a strategy to address the issue of sexual harassment at the workplace and in educational institutions. This is a part of a gender mainstreaming project with the objective of opening opportunities for women in all sectors of society. Conducted training of trainers who would conduct awareness sessions on the issue. Prepared a short film on sexual harassment in Dari for wide dissemination in the country. The assignment includes conducting training for researchers and supporting them in research design to undertake a comprehensive study on gender discrimination and sexual harassment . Trained a group of media professionals from television, radio and newspapers on gender issues, in , Pakistan. . . Designed and conducted a Refresher Training for a pool of gender trainers who have been trained by me earlier. I have been extensively involved in recent World Forum events. Worked extensively on issues of Violence Against Women and its effects on women and their children. Other than crisis counseling and sensitization on the issues, given numerous talks on the subject of Violence Against Women in general, Domestic Violence, Rape, Incest, Violent Rituals, Burning Brides, Verbal Abuse, Prostitution etc. at a national level. Founded and managed an NGO, sunlighthdn, on womens issues, specifically related to violence. . Served formally on its management board for five years. Raised awareness on issues of violence through numerous activities. Worked on Childrens rights. Set up the very first program in Pakistan that focused on child sexual abuse.
