FILM It is the medium on which motion pictures are fixed.

(Comedies) A genre of film that have serious, plot driven presentation, protraying realistic characters, settings, life situations, and stories involving intense character development and interaction. (Dramas) A genre of film that is designed to frighten and invoke our hidden worst fears, often in a terrifying, shocking finale, while captivating and entertaining us at the same time in a catharatic experience. (Horror) Also known as 'black film.' (Film Noir) This genre of film makes the love story the main plot focus. (Romance) A genre of film that have no synchronized soundtrack and no spoken language. (Silent)

VISUAL ARTS The practice of applying paint to a surface. (Painting) Processing (as by carving, modeling or welding) plastic or hard materials into works of art.(Sculpture) Art history that seeks to uncover the codified meaning or meanings in an aesthetic object by examining its connectedness to a collective consciousness. (Semiotic) An art movement that attempts to depict subjects as they are, without embellishment or interpretation. (Realism) An art movement wherein objects are analyzed, broken up and reassembled in an abstracted form. (Cubism) An art movement where expressionist artists sought to express meaning or emotional experience rather that physical reality. (Expressionism) This art movement is dedicated to expressing the imagination as revealed in dreams. free of the conscious control of reason and convention. ARCHITECTURE Defined as both the process and product of planning, designing and construction. (Architecture) Architecture came from what Greek word? (Tap) A type of dance that includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, and popping. (Hiphop) A unique form of dance characterized by sharp, rolling movements of the hips and abdomen. (Belly Dance) This form of Philippine Folk Dance illustrates the fiesta spirit and demonstrates a love of life. (Rural and Barrio Dance) An artistic dance form performed to music using precise and highly formalized set of steps and gestures. (Ballet) A type of dance that is fast-paced, often sensual, partner dance characterized by sexy hip movements. (Latin Dance) A free, expressive style of dancing started in the early 20th century as a reaction to classical ballet. (Modern Dance)
